(this is pretty much episode one of many to come so let the suspense kill you ;) )
Selene, standing in ankle deep water, waits for something to happen. Michael, at her side, realizes what has happened and stands in aw of his new followers. They become the most infamous people in the underworld at that very moment.
Days later
Selene: "Marcus has awakened, I can feel it. I see him in my dreams, searching for us so he can destroy what we've started. Pathetic how someone as old and wise as he can still believe that fairy tale Viktor created."
Selene, speaking with Michael, frustration and fear humming in her aura, slams the top down on her laptop they stole from her room earlier that day.
Michael, more confused than ever, lie awake trying to understand it all.
They are in the remains of an abandoned farm house. Its old and falling apart but enough to keep them safe until they figure out where to go next. The home is on the land Saline's family owned over 200 years ago. Before she was afraid of this place, now she welcomed it.
Watching Michael, she begins to feel the tension leave her body. He makes her feel safe.
Michael: "Now that Lucian is dead the Lycans need a leader…."
Thinking out loud, he turns to Selene catching her eye on him
Selene coming out of her daze, stands from the obviously homemade chair she has been sitting in for hours.
Selene: "They expect you to be their leader. You are, by far, the strongest of them. Most likely the smartest as well."
"Stupid beasts," she thinks as she walks over to the bed Michael has been lying on.
Michael sits up making room for her. He watches her as she moves closer.
Michael: "I can't be their leader! I don't know anything about their kind other than what you've told me."
Frustrated he looks to Selene for help.
Even with all her knowledge and experience in the underworld she is just as confused as he is. Looking into his eyes she sees his fear, as well as feel it in his aura. She kisses him wishing for his innocence.
Selene: "Look, we're in this together. I'll help you as much as they let me or as much as I can stand to be around them. Being so used to killing them its hard to help them, but not with you….."
Her words trail off leaving them to stare at one another both oblivious to the shadow moving closer to the abandoned farm house. Any day now the shadow could be upon them, but now, it waits.
