Beauty and the Black Cat
A Miraculous Ladybug Story
By: Frogwithshoes
Five years ago was when it began, when Cat Noir went crazy.
Flashback
Ladybug and Cat Noir looked over Paris from the top of a building. "M'Lady?" asked Cat Noir. Ladybug turned to him and said, "Ya kitty?" Cat Noir sighed and looked at Ladybug's blue eyes. "Oh Ladybug, I've loved you since I met you, I love your bravery, your beautiful eyes and hair, I can't get you out of my mind, oh Ladybug, please go on a date with me!"
"Cat Noir, I-I, I like somebody else, I'm sorry," said Ladybug her voice shaking. "What does he have that I don't?" said Cat Noir his hands becoming fists by his sides. "Don't take it pers-,"started Ladybug but got cut off. "Why don't you like me? Why!" yelled Cat Noir at Ladybug. "I'll kill whoever you like! I'll kill him! Tell me who he is!" he yelled walking towards Ladybug. He used his cataclysm and swiped the rail turning it to rust and making it fall.
"Cat Noir, you need to stop! You're making a big mistake!" yelled Ladybug. "You're making the mistake," said Cat Noir. Tears began streaming down Ladybug's face. Ladybug knew he wasn't akumatized, his anger was just really strong. "Please stop," yelled Ladybug. He began turning things into rust and wrecking havoc. For some odd reason his cataclysm was working more than once. Ladybug took off one earring and held it out in front of her and at Cat Noir as he began walking towards her.
"I'm so sorry," was all she said as a white light shot out from the earring and engulfed Cat Noir. He screamed an ear splitting scream. It vanished him to a castle in the woods, he turned into a horrific cat beast, the only thing that could turn him back was finding true love.
Flashback Ending
Now Marinette has lost her spot as Ladybug and forgot about all of it. She forgot Tikki and Cat Noir like everybody else did. Everybody remembered Ladybug though, except for Marinette. Little did Marinette know she was Ladybug and one day she would meet Cat Noir and Tikki once again.
Five Years Later
Marinette moved from Paris to a small village where she lived with her mom and dad at a small bakery. She still kept in touch with Alya. They both awaited the day they would see each other again. Each day their hope getting bigger and brighter. It has been 4 months since they moved to the small village. Now Marinette is getting used to her new home. She is now 20, and helping run the bakery. Marinette now had longer hair that went a bit past her shoulders.
Marinette skipped the streets with a basket on her arm. "Hello Marinette," said Lori, the towns' librarian. She was standing outside her small library. "Hello Lori," said Marinette. "Any new fashion books?" asked Marinette. "No sorry sweet pea," replied Lori. "Oh no matter, I'll take the Fashion Yearly." said Marinette. "You've read it 11 times," exclaimed Lori. "It never gets old," said Marinette giggling.
Lori handed her a green book with a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes on the front. She slipped it into her basket and said, "Thank you Lori!" Lori nodded and waved goodbye as Marinette skipped away. She continued skipping until she came to a small bakery. Marinette opened the door and walked in. "Hello sweetie," said her mother.
"Hello Mama," said Marinette, "Will Papa be home soon?" "Yes sweetheart, he will be home soon, he just went to town square sell some bread." Marinette nodded and walked up a small set of stairs leading to a very small bedroom that was Marinette's room. She sat down her basket on her desk and sat down on her bed as she looked out a window.
Kids ran the streets rapidly, playing with toys and stuff. Then came a little girl reading a book. Marinette smiled and went out the door. When she walked out she saw kids pushing the little girl. "Hey!" said Marinette running over, "Don't do that, how would you feel if she pushed you in the mud, now run along." She shooed them away and helped the little girl up.
The girl had brown hair and brown eyes. "Thank you miss," she said. "You're welcome," said Marinette smiling. Marinette began skipping off on her way. A smile filled her face. Marinette was humming until she heard a voice yelled, "Oh Mari Bug!" She gave a deep groan and turned around to see her least favorite person, Nathan.
Nathan was muscular man, with red hair and brown eyes. He had a major crush on Marinette and never left her alone. Marinette found him really annoying and ignored him most of the time. He ran up to her and said, "Hey Beautiful." "Uh Hi Nathan, look I gotta get going." She attempted to get past him but he blocked her path. "What's the rush Sugarcube?" "I thought I told you to stop calling me that," said Marinette, "Do you ever hear me calling you annoying as heck?"
He didn't reply, and Marinette said, "That's what I thought." Marinette stormed off in the direction of the bakery. Nathan grinned to himself as his assistant, Seth came up behind him. Seth was a short and stubby man with black hair and brown eyes. "She gets more gorgeous by the minute," said Nathan. "You really think she's just playing hard to get?" asked Seth. "Yes she is who wouldn't want to marry me?" asked Nathan. "Everybody wants to marry you," replied Seth. Nathan grinned to himself and walked off in search of the bar.
Marinette threw the door open and slammed, she made her way to her room. She fell face down straight into her blankets. Marinette rolled over onto her back. A knock on her bedroom was heard. "Marinette? Honey, is everything okay?" came her mom's sweet voice. "Ya I'm fine!" said Marinette her voice slightly raised so her mom could hear her through the door. Her mother knew that Nathan had given her daughter trouble, but there was nothing she could do about it. Marinette reached over to her desk and pulled a sketchbook from the desk drawer. A pencil sat nicely inside an open page that displayed a gorgeous gown with ladybug print and a mask.
Marinette smiled, she made it in honor of Ladybug, the superhero who disappeared a long time ago. She longed to know what happened to this superhero. Ladybug disappeared from Paris a few years ago and hasn't been seen since. Marinette's parents always said Marinette looked a lot like Ladybug. Little did Marinette know she was Ladybug. Key word is was, she use to be. It's not like she remembered, you're forced to forget that kind of stuff.
She pulled a pencil box full of colored pencils out of her desk drawer and sat them beside her. Marinette sat with her legs criss-crossed. She opened the box and shuffled through the pencils until she came to red one and pulled it out. The sketch also had a pair of black high heeled boots and a black belt and trim made out of lace. Marinette began coloring it in, not leaving any white behind. The red was deep and beautiful. At the end she smiled at her work, soon she layed down and drifted off into a deep sleep, leaving her sketchbook open on her bed.
In a castle deep in the woods a beastly creature paced back and forth. It was stroking it's fur on its chin. The beast was none other than a transformed Cat Noir. He stood 5" 9' tall and was very muscular. He wore a black suit that had a choker with a yellow cat bell on it. Cat Noir also had a big furry tail.
"Master, I'm sure Plagg was only kidding," came a small voice trying to reassure him. The voice was none other than Tikki, Ladybug's kwami. "I'm not sure anymore, I knew he would get into trouble, he better not bring another innocent girl here," came Cat Noir's rough voice. Tikki smiled, "Maybe he'll bring the right one this time?"
"No! Nobody could ever love me!" yelled Cat Noir. "Master! Calm down!" yelled Tikki as a noise from the door was heard. The twos' heads whipped around to see Plagg using some kind of kwami magic to push a horrified Marinette into the door. Plagg grinned and went in front of her, "Master I found another one." Tikki took a good look at Marinette and gasped. "Plagg! What are you thinking?" asked Cat Noir. The door slammed shut and Marinette was released from the magic. Her face was filled with horror as she pushed herself up against the wall.
Tikki quickly flew over and said, "Ma'am calm down! We're not going to hurt you!" Cat Noir for the first time paid some attention to Marinette's face. He immediately recognized her from their friendship when he was Adrien. "Marinette," he said his voice coming out soft, which surprised Marinette, she didn't expect that. "H-how d-d-did you know m-my n-n-name?" she asked.
"Calm down, Mari, I'm not going to hurt, you I promise," said Cat. Marinette felt like she knew that voice from somewhere, from something a long time ago. Marinette whimpered, and said, "Can I just go home?" Cat Noir came to the realization that he would have to erase her memory.
He knew he couldn't just erase her memory of him, it would erase her memory of her whole life. Cat didn't want to keep her from her family, but it was way better than her forgetting everything. "You can't go home not now," he said in a demanding tone.
"You know about us and now you must stay here forever," said Plagg grinning. "Owww," he yelled as Tikki hit him in the back of his head. "W-What?" stuttered Mari. "You can share a room with Tikki, she can help you redecorate if you would like." said Cat. Marinette was speechless. Tikki flew in front of her and smiled saying, "Follow me! I'll show you to our room.
Mari silently followed her, feeling as if she was helpless. After turning a few hallways, they came to a oak door. Tikki used her magic to open the door. There was a twin sized bed with a ladybug print blanket and pillow. It also had a desk with a laptop and a lamp.
"Do you like it?"asked Tikki. Mari only nodded and sat on the bed. "You don't talk much do you?" asked Tikki. Marinette replied with, "I'm being forced to stay in a creepy castle the woods with talking animal bug thingys would you talk?" Tikki corrected her with "Kwami's, i'm a kwami."
"Ya whatever," replied Mari, sitting down her legs hanging off the mattress. Marinette was hoping this was all a bad dream and she would wake up soon, sadly that wasn't the case. Tikki sat besides Mari on the bed. "Hey look at the bright side, you can get away from that annoying Nathan," said Tikki. "How did you know about Nathan?" asked Mari glaring at Tikki.
"Marinette I know a lot about you!" replied Tikki. "Oh great now i've got a stalker," mumbled Marinette, quiet enough so Tikki could only hear mumbles. "What was that Marinette?" asked Tikki in her sweet voice. "Oh nothing," replied Marinette fake smiling. "Actually I think I'll go to bed," said Marinette. It was 10:21 and since Mari had gotten woken up by a small cat kwami, she was especially tired.
"Oh of course, but first you need changed," said Tikki dragging her to a walk in closet. A tiny, kwami snow leopard was right in front of Mari's face when they walked in. "Hello, I am Dizzy, I will design all your clothes," she said. She flew around Marinette taking a good look at her. After a minute she seemed satisfied.
Dizzy snapped her fingers and a pink ladybug pajama onesie appeared on her. Marinette looked up and down her body and said, "Wow, you have good taste." "Thanks, that is my power after all," said Dizzy. She smiled and said, "Well I better get some rest myself, night Mari, night Tikki sweet dreams!" The snow leopard flew off. "Wow she was nice," said Mari not sure of what to say next. "Yes she is," replied Tikki.
They both sat down on the bed. Tikki smiled up at Marinette who groaned and went backwards, crashing down onto the bed. "Night Tikki," said Marinette drifting off to sleep. Marinette was laying on her back, and Tikki went over and made her way onto Marinette's stomach. Tikki curled up and went to sleep.
"What were you thinking Plagg!" yelled Cat to Plagg in the dining room. "I was trying to help," Plagg shot back, "Maybe she'll be the one!" "Plagg take a good look at me! No girl could ever like me, I can't blame Ladybug for rejecting me, I see her point," said Cat his voice softening. "Marinette was friends with you when you were Adrien," said Plagg his voice getting quieter.
"That was different," said Cat Noir, "She didn't have a crush on me, plus I didn't look like this." Plagg mentally slammed his head on something hard. "You idiot! She did have a crush on you!" yelled Plagg. "What?" asked Cat unsure if he heard Plagg correctly. "She stuttered around you all the time! She was afraid to make a mistake," said Plagg.
"I'm such an idiot," said Cat Noir lightly. "Ya I know," mumbled Plagg. "But I loved Ladybug, and she didn't love me," said Cat. Plagg flew in front of his face and said, "Cat, Ladybug rejected you because she liked somebody else, not because she DIDN'T like you!" Cat looked up at him and said softly, "Ladybug liked me?" Plagg nodded, he knew Ladybug liked Cat Noir but had too much pride to admit it.
Cat sighed and said, "Ladybug gave up her miraculous, I still have no clue why." Plagg knew exactly why and said, "She couldn't handle not having a partner." Cat began to argue, "But she couldn't remember me." "Ya but she felt like something was missing, which some was, and she couldn't stand working alone." Plagg explained. "Besides, about Mari, she looked so scared, clearly she didn't want to be around somebody ugly like me," said Cat Noir. "One day you'll realize Cat, to Mari it isn't what somebody looks like, it's what their personality is like," said Plagg flying off.
Cat stood there to ponder things for a moment, he wished he understood but he didn't. He sighed and went off to bed wondering what would happen the next day.
Author's Notes:
Hello! I hope you enjoyed that chapter, don't worry plenty more to come! The time is probably set after like the first few episodes of the series in the flashbacks. So I basically pretended like the rest of season 1 and season 2 never happened. I really like how this story is playing out, I'm going to try and finish this story before starting any new ones. Anyway I'm not sure how often i'll upload. Sometimes for these stories I get terrible writers block and can only think of the parts that need to happen later on in the story, instead of what needs to happen now to lead up to that. That's about all I need to say, review and let me know what you think!
