Keeping a Secret

She shut the door as quietly as she could. She didn't want them to know she'd come back. She needed some time alone. She pulled her bag open, dumping the contents onto her bed. Jewelry and other trinkets fell onto the comforter, most with tags still attached. She pushed aside her school things and began to sift through her new treasures.

She couldn't tell anyone. It was her little secret, her way of handling everything that had happened. It wasn't like anyone noticed what she did. They never paid attention to her anymore. She was nothing special.
