Lukas was not a force to be reckoned with. If you tried to put up a fight, he'd surely be able to put you in your place before things got out of hand. He had never lost a wink of sleep, worrying that a certain stupid Dane would step out of line, because he knew the second he tried, he'd be ready with his hand or a book, to clock him in the head. It was his way of affection, trying to keep Matthias out of trouble.

But he never knew what would happen if Matthias simply went…serious. It was unheard of. He had made the mistake before, thinking his long work was finally paying off, but once the Norwegian looked again, it was back to that happy go lucky smirk of his. He was simply too proud.

He never knew that behind every smile was something very dark, that even Matthias couldn't disguise forever.

And it was only just beginning to take shape in his world.
