Summary: He sneaks out in the black of night on the first day of his arrival in Costa Verde.
A.N: Written for pairechallenge drabble #21, black. Just a little scene I'm sure Tim Kring forgot and accidently left out while Peter was in Costa Verde. ;) Nothing really romantic, though with Paire of course there's going to be a bit o' tension.
He sneaks out in the black of night on the first day of his arrival in Costa Verde, flying through the air with his brother's ability coursing through his veins. He doesn't know how he can tell which house is hers or how he's sure this is the right neighborhood but something tells him that it is. He raps on her window gently, fingers crossed that it's going to be her that stares back at him when the blinds move.
He lets out a sigh of relief when they whip aside and he sees her scowling face staring back at him. Her expression quickly dissolves into one of shock and she scrambles to open the window.
"Sorry," she whispers to him as he climbs through, "I thought you were someone else." He chuckles at her, softly but strained.
"What, like other people fly up to your window in the middle of the night?"
She smiles at him, somewhat tightly, before muttering, "You'd be surprised." She clears her throat and continues before he can respond; "Peter, what are you doing here? My dad could be right outside the door."
I need you to tell me where to find your dad, he should be telling her but he swallows thickly and says instead, "I just wanted to make sure you were okay."
"I'm... fine," she tells him, and though he's not convinced he lets the matter drop, offering her the lopsided smile he knows she loves. He can see her trying to smile back but it drops before it's even fully there. "You need to get out of here before my dad finds you."
He nods, once, reaching out an arm to touch her on instinct before he stops himself. "Good night, Claire."
He is out the window, shrouded again in the black of night, before she even has a chance to respond.
