Hey guys!
*Shot*
I know, I know. I am really sorry about not updating in legit forever but life and Tumblr tag teamed me into oblivion. Anyway this story is being rewritten because I'm just not happy with the OCs now. Thanks to all of my amazing reviewers who waited faithfully for me. I have exams now but I was able to write this thanks to the amazing power of procrastination! So enjoy.
Dragging her partner along the lavish hallways of the school, Iwa attempted to ignore the stares and whispers that followed them. Sighing, she wondered if it would have been a better idea to wear the uniform, if only to blend in slightly more. No, she decided, the (as Shi had put it) stupid, fluffy, yellow dress would only get in the way in any combat situation. Not to mention Shi's dislike of pretty much any clothes tighter than the wide sleeved, grey kimono top she wore.
"Sooooo, Iwa," Shi began in the voice she used when she noticed something Iwa hadn't. Which, when they weren't in Death city, wasn't that often, "I think we just passed our classroom. For the third time."
"What?!" Iwa yelped and turned ran back the way they came.
…
"Temporary transfers…Hoshiko…Iwa…feel welcome." The teacher's voice faded out, Iwa's brain only catching a couple of words. She studied the room of teenagers, all of them around her age and three or four years older than Shi, checking for any outward signs of potentials that could possibly change their mission. The class seemed normal, though she could only be sure once she could find a quiet room. For now they both settled into attempting to look ordinary to the curious teens around them. Neither noticed the handsome blond boy watching them with interest.
…
"Lunchlunchlunchlunch come on Iwa!" Being dragged along, as someone hurtled through a series of confusing hallways was extremely unpleasant Iwa decided and resolved to try to subject Shi to it at least a little less often. Though considering the younger girl could literally get distracted by a strange noise Iwa would no doubt be forced to break that resolve fairly quickly.
Lost in her thoughts, Iwa didn't notice when Shi suddenly stopped and consequently ran into her, knocking her and the boy in front of her over. Iwa groaned and climbed out of the pile, yanking Shi up with her and offering a hand to the boy who had landed facedown on the floor.
The boy raised his head and caught sight of the proffered hand, looking up he gave a small smile and took hold of her hand, surprising Iwa with the slender hand.
The boy gave a small grunt as Iwa easily yanked him to his feet, while Shi hovered anxiously, scared that she had somehow hurt him. Iwa frowned, Shi acted like this sometimes, as if she thought she was going to seriously hurt a normal person. It was possible, Iwa reflected, as Weapons were technically like, a hundredth witch, but with Shi, it was something more. Probably something that had happened before they had met, back before the demon battle-axe had neatly dismantled and reshaped her entire life.
Shaking off her thoughts, Iwa turned her attention back to the boy that she suddenly realized she was still hold hands with. Blushing wildly, she hastily let go and started stammering out apologies. Actually on closer inspection, the boy seemed kind of really effeminate.
"It's okay, really." The boy (girl?) smiled kindly and finally stemmed Iwa's apologies and Shi's anxious hovering. "I'm fine."
"If you're sure." Iwa said doubtfully
"Definitely." He said assuredly, "I don't think I've seen you before. Are you new here?" He started walking while they spoke, presumably towards the cafeteria. Iwa and Shi followed, the latter looking relieved that the boy was fine, causing Iwa to decide she needed to find out what the deal was after school. Leaving that thought train to the back of her head she decided it would probably be a good idea to respond to the still waiting student.
"Uh…sorta. We're here on a temporary exchange from our school." To anyone looking, Shibusen was a school for gifted students from all over the world, owned and run by a recluse Lord and his son, the school that was known as Shibusen was surrounded by the grimly named Death city that boarded students as well as families.
Many believed the city and school to be a joke or something similar, as nobody seemed to be able to find the city and satellite footage never showed anything. Of course to the few that knew of its true purpose, the school and city was far more.
"Ah, I almost forgot, would there be a quiet room anywhere around here? We'd like to study and the libraries are a bit loud." Iwa asked sheepishly, embarrassed that she needed help finding their way around.
"Of course," the androgynous teen answered, rather sweetly in Iwa's opinion, "But I'll have to show you after school, I believe lunch has ended." And looking around, Iwa could tell he was right as students were beginning to drift back towards the classrooms.
"Thank you so much, um could you show us from the classroom? It's a bit hard finding our way around in here."
Nodding the boy (girl?) waved goodbye and walked off, presumably to class.
…
After class, Iwa and Shi hovered nervously outside the classroom, half afraid that the boy had forgotten them. Thankfully as the students parted, he appeared and waved at them. Relieved the two girls quickly strode towards him,
"Thank D-god," Iwa hastily corrected, "I thought you'd forgotten about us!"
"Of course I wouldn't! It's nice to find someone else in this school who feels the need to study sometimes." He confided, leading them up a staircase towards a corridor with several doors along it. "The music rooms are usually free, just don't go into the thir-" He was cut off as Shi, who had run ahead slightly started opening the door to the labeled, third music room.
"Don't!" he yelled to late as a burst of rose petals swept out and five voices said in unison;
"Welcome to the host club!"
