Hey there, readers! This isn't my first Pokemon story, but it's my first Penguinshipping one. So anyways, this is set five years after the end of the Sinnoh region's TV reign. Also, there is a contest, but I kinda skip over it because I don't remember how contests work (the only amount of the show I've watched recently is the originals and the only Pokemon game I've played recently is Blue Version - yeah, ancient, I know). So sorry 'bout that. But I hope you enjoy the story anyway! I don't own Pokemon. Now let's get on with it!

"Dawn?"

Dawn turned. Kenny was standing there, in his contest outfit. She quickly stood, smoothing out her dress. "What is it, Kenny?"

Kenny blushed. "G-good luck," he muttered. Dawn blushed in surprise. They were in the Hoenn region, having stayed there all this time. Kenny ran off, Pokeball in hand. Dawn reached after him, but he disappeared in the crowd of contestants.

"Em empoleon? Are you alright, Dawn?" Empoleon looked up at her, concerned.

Dawn quickly shook her head. "Yeah, I'm fine." She stared in the direction Kenny had gone until they made the announcement for the contest to start.

Relieved it was over and having changed back into her normal clothes, Dawn flopped down on the bench. "Whew! Great job, everyone!" she said with a smile at her Pokemon.

"Ru pachirusu! You did great too, Dawn!" Pachirusu snuggled on her lap. Dawn smiled and brushed the squirrelly Pokemon's fur, happy and proud of their latest win.

"Hey, Dawn." Kenny walked up to her. He had changed back into his normal outfit again, too, but he had a confidence that hadn't been there before the contest.

"Kenny, you ran off earlier before I could wish you luck back," Dawn said scoldingly, brushing Pachirusu's fur.

"Yeah..." Kenny rubbed behind his head. "Mind if I sit down?"

"Go ahead." Dawn nodded at the spot next to her. Kenny walked over and sat down. Barely any space separated them. Dawn continued to stroke Pachirusu, trying her hardest not to glance up at Kenny's face. She could almost feel his hand. Wait a minute, she could feel his hand! "Kenny!" she said, blushing, pulling her hand away.

Kenny smiled almost shyly. "Why not?" he said, taking her hand in both of hers. Dawn stopped. Suddenly she couldn't tear her blue eyes from his ebony ones. "Why not?" he repeated.

"I-I..." Dawn stammered. Pachirusu smiled and hopped down to the ground. Dawn felt herself leaning forward. Kenny's hand went up to the back of her head to pull her forward. Their lips met in the middle, forming around each others' softly. Kenny wrapped his arms around her back, pulling her in against him. Dawn's arms went around his neck, pulling him closer. The kiss lasted several seconds before they broke apart, both trying to get air back in their lungs. The two smiled at each other and kissed again, more passionately this time. The pattern continued for about ten minutes.

Finally, Kenny held Dawn's head against his chest, stroking her hair gently. "Since day one, and I finally work up the nerve to do it," he whispered, kissing the top of her head.

Dawn hugged him tightly. "It's about time, don't you think?"

"No." Kenny kissed her forehead. "Past time, definitely." Dawn smiled happily and snuggled in closer.

This is what I get for going to Penguinshipping videos on YouTube for my music. :D Anyhoo, please review!
