Summary: From episode 9 of R2. Maybe Schneizel doesn't know how to play chess. Crack.

Disclaimer: I have no idea who does own Code Geass, but I do know that I'm not one of them.

"Well then, shall we call this a draw?" Lelouch, dressed as Zero, asked, folding his hands beneath his chin.

Schneizel smiled. "You must not underestimate the white king." He moved his king. "Checkmate."

There were murmurs as Lelouch stared at the board in shock. After a long moment he said, "Umm, you can't do that."

Still smiling, Schneizel said, "Do what?"

Lelouch pointed. "You can't move your king into check. It's one of the most basic rules of chess!" He reached beneath his cape, pulled out a book, and threw it on the table. "Look it up if you don't believe me!"

" 'Idiot's Guide to Chess'," Schneizel read the book's title. "What are you doing carrying this around?" He paused and added, "And where exactly in that get-up were you hiding it?"

"Well, since you're doing illegal moves, then so am I!" Lelouch moved his king forward, capturing Schneizel's king. Yes, it put his king in check, but it didn't matter since Schneizel's king had been captured. "I win!" he exclaimed, jumping out of his seat. He started doing an extremely dorky dance. "I win! Oh yeah, I win!"

Schneizel stared at the board, jaw dropped. "I guess it was checkmate."

Notes: I checked that episode many times, and yes, Schneizel definitely does an illegal move, which made me very confused. Was he supposed to have made an illegal move? Or did the people making episode 9 not know that it was an illegal move? Shame on you, Code Geass!
