hello- its me. sorry for not updating any of my other stories.... been having writers block. then this idea popped up while i was listening to a radio. this song's one of my faves even if it is really say... so be prepared for mild angst.

Haruka smiled as her beloved Michiru walked out the door and to the car. They had finally gotten a night to themselves. Hotaru was sleeping over at Rini's and Setsuna was at the time gates. So with their new found free time they decided to go on a date.

Oh where, oh where, can my baby be?
The Lord took her away from me.
She's gone to heaven so I got to be good,
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.

Michiru got into Haruka's car and they took off, Haruka doing her usual speed which you would only find on a race track.
Everything seemed to be goin well. They were discussing how much their little firefly had grown recently when suddenly the headlight lit up a car stalled in the middle of the road.
Haruka quickly veered to the right, stomping on the brakes which didn't seem to help as they collided with the car and spun into the ditch rolling the car. The last thing she heard was the squeal of the tires, breaking glass and Michiru's painful screams.

We were out on a date in my daddy's car
We hadn't driven very far.
There in the road straight ahead,
A car was stalled, the engine was dead.
I couldn't stop, so I swerved to the right,
I'll never forget the sound that night.
The screaming tires, the busting glass,
The painful scream that I heard last.

It took a bit for Haruka to come to, and when she did she immediately looked around for her beloved. She found her several feet from the car, in bloody shape, paramedics were just beginning to arrive.

So I can see my baby when I leave this world.

She painfully make her way over to her fallen love, wiping the blood out of her eyes as she reached her. Haruka pulled Michi's head onto her lap and brushed a stand of blood soaked teal hair out of her lovers eyes. "Shh.. It's okay Michi, I'm here now." She said soothingly as she looked into her lover eyes.
Michiru smiled faintly as she reached up to cup Haruka's cheek with her bloody hand. "Hold me darling just for a little while longer…." She asked softly, barely above a whisper.
Haruka nodded and held her close. She bent down and kissed her gently. Michiru smiled up at her as she pulled away and closed her eyes.
Haruka felt the last breath leave Michiru's body, her light extinguished.

When I woke up, the rain was pouring down,
There were people standing all around.
Something warm flowing through my eyes,
But some how I found my baby that night.
I lifted her head, she looked at me and said;
"Hold me darling just a little while."
I held her close I kissed her - our last kiss
I found the love that I knew I had missed.
Well now she's gone even though I hold her tight,
I lost my love, my life that night.

Tears started to flow down her cheeks as she clutched Michiru to her. The Paramedics came over briefly and pronounced the former water senshi dead and waited for Haruka to let them take her.
"Michiru….my love…… please wait for me…." Haruka murmured as she kissed her dead beloved on the forehead.
