Nepeta's eyes widened when she saw the limp body of her moirail. Tears began to flow down her face, a soft plip echoing in the vents whenever one left her face and hit the floor. She raised her hands over her mouth and continued to sob, her olive tears staining her cheeks and hands. Nepeta's mind flashed back to all the fun she had with Equius when he was still alive. All their conversations, their playful teasing, the time spent playing on her planet-LOLCAT.
She was jolted from her thoughts by footsteps. She removed her hands from her face and scooted towards the vent opening, peering through the grate. As soon as she saw Gamzee, she flew into a fit of rage.
Kicking out the grate, Nepeta flicked out her claws and lunged at Gamzee, beginning to rake their sharpened tips across his face. Gamzee's hand reached up and grabbed her wrist, dragging Nepeta's claws the rest of the way across his visage. This angered poor Nepeta even further. He was mocking her! He thought she wasn't a worthy opponent! How dare he! Equius' death will be avenged!
She narrowed her eyes, and with a vicious hiss, dove for Gamzee again. She was stopped when Gamzee heaved the club from his side and slammed it into the side of her skull. A loud crack was heard, and Nepeta fell to the floor. Her ears were ringing and her head had gone completely numb, she could taste blood in her mouth. When Nepeta finally realized what had happened, she knew she wasn't going to last long. She dragged herself across the floor to Equius, the blood pouring from her head leaving an olive trail along the floor. She reached a hand out to his, wanting to hold it one last time. Then, Gamzee grabbed her by the tail, jerking her away before she could make it to her dead friend. Gamzee turned on his heel, and just like a baseball pitcher, threw Nepeta at the wall. As she sailed through the air, Nepeta had one final thought. 'Equius, you were the best meowrail anyone could' An ear wrenching snap resounded throughout the room, and Nepeta's vision went dark. The last thing she heard before she finally passed was Gamzee's mad laugher.
