Saku's prompt: Ed/Al- Ed's got so much to be sorry for- for the failed human transmutation, for the horrors he put his little brother through (for all that Al had to see and hear; for an innocent boy to experience so much death), for losing Al's body. But the last thing he ever wanted was to mess up his feelings for Al.
Drabble's also somewhat inspired by Florence + the Machine's song "Heavy in Your Arms" (though this wasn't part of Saku's prompt)
Warning(s)/Rating: Implied slash incest (Elricest). It's not graphic though, but I thought you should be warned anyway. Drabble's rated light M for safety.

Drabble 1: Edward 1

He'd give him the world if he could. He'd kill for him. He'd reach up into the heavens and pull down the stars, one by one, clutching them close to his heart, and then he'd kiss them and give them to Alphonse. And Alphonse would drink stardust from his lips. He'd damn his soul again if it would take away his baby brother's tears. He'd give up every last one of his limbs if it would give Alphonse happiness. He'd rip out his still beating heart for him and die with a smile on his face because it would be for his brother.

There was no god to Edward, but there was Alphonse.

"Brother…" Alphonse whispered, broken and hoarse, in his sleep.

Edward hushed the unconscious boy with fluttering kisses against his temple and held him tighter trying with all his might to be gentle. Alphonse had his body back, but he was so weak from being so long inside the portal. Edward may still have had his metal limbs, but he didn't care one iota about that fact, not in the face of having all of Alphonse back.

"Brother," Alphonse repeated, this time as if the word was a talisman—the boy was still deep in slumber.

"Alphonse, I love you." I love that you're heavy in my arms.

Edward held his brother somehow tighter and finally fell asleep himself.
