Ughhh, I hated wearing these stupid high heels! You'd think being a salesgirl at a department store would at least allow us comfy shoes. I worked in the perfume department, no other position was available. I spent my day helping rich ladies pick out an "original" scent in exchange for minimum wage(it was better than getting paid in coupons at Lucky Smells). Once I got my break, I gave my feet a rest and sat back in the staff lounge. I tied my hair up in a ribbon and tried to fill my head with the prospect of a new invention. All my mind could think about was him. I knew I would probably never see each other again, but I couldn't help but hope. I'm now 17 and you are about to hear about the afternoon that shook the life of me, Violet Baudelaire, and sent me skyrocketing into a new future.
As I went back to work, a boy, roughly my age, exited the book department. He was handsome, somewhat resembling Quigley. I followed him as he went to the cash register, hiding in racks of cashmere sweaters. I felt low and kinda dorky spying on the poor guy, I didn't even know his name! I saw the book he purchased, an atlas. "Impossible…" I whispered to myself "absolutely impossible." I did the only thing a girl in my position could do, slowly get out of the clothes rack and go talk to him. Oh, crap. My foot fell asleep. As I tried to stand up, I fell and got my heel stuck in the cracks of the floor. People stared, some laughed. The boy saw me on the ground and helped me up. "Violet…" he said with disbelief, "Violet Baudelaire, is it really you?"
I told him it was me. He swept me up in an embrace and I didn't want to let go. I explained that I was working here to pay our bills. He understood. He picked me up and carried me out of the store, I guess I won't be getting that paycheck afterall! Somehow, we were reunited. I wanted to think and make sense of it, but it just didn't seem like the right time. I had Quigley Quagmire back. I didn't need anything else!
It was shorter than expected, but I think you all will enjoy it! I just LOVE them as a couple and thought this would be a cute little reunion story! I'm open to suggestions for future stories, so please Read and Review! I appreciate all support! =)
