OUT OF EGYPT
Out of Egypt they are led,
With bundles of water, wine and bread.
With no need for gold or money,
For the Lord will lead them to the land of milk and honey.
Out of Egypt they now fly,
"Moses, Moses," they now cry.
For he himself hath heard the Lord,
With a staff of wood for a sword.
"Out of Egypt, they must not go,"
Pharaoh cries, for he does not know,
That the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is with every slave.
Them alone will He save.
Out of Egypt, Pharaoh's army doth ride,
Filled with evil, greed and pride.
But the Lord, them He doth see,
And with His help, Moses doth part the sea.
Out of Egypt, via the Red Sea, the slaves do flee,
Followed by Pharaoh, laughing with glee.
Moses stretches out his hand,
And buries Pharaoh beneath waves and sand.
Out of Egypt, they have been led,
Moses, them he hath saved from joining the dead.
The slaves laugh and sing with glee,
The children of Israel are free.
