Laura sat there in his lap, her head resting against his rough shoulder. As she rested there she contemplated the thought that someday soon they wouldn't be able to do this anymore. The cancer was back, she had no fight in her, it had won. A memory kept repeating in her mind as she snuggled in closer to Bill. They had been sitting just like this, though she was sure she was heavier then. Cottle had informed them that there was nothing left to do anymore, no more treatments, no more cures, no more hope, only reality. They hadn't moved, they just sat there in silence. After a long time Bill had leant forwards and pressed his lips against hers with such adoration and love. It was then that Laura had started talking about what would happen after she was gone and the plans that were needed. Bill however had just leant again to her face and waited for her to close those last few inches. That was the last time they had spoken to each other about what would happen. However, Lee and Kara had been there through it all and helped with the planning. They were closer than any of children would have ever been; they were her children and her, their mother. Laura shivered at the thought of leaving her 'family' behind. Even thinking about a life without them was agonizing. Once again Laura shivered, however, this time it wasn't because of her terrifying thoughts. This time it was something else, this time she could feel all the warmth drain out of her body. Bill could feel her shaking and he pulled her closer. He thought that maybe if he held her close enough for long enough she wouldn't leave, she couldn't leave. But he knew it was Laura Roslin he was embracing, she would and could do anything she wanted. Laura felt so cold as Bills body's warmth tried to compensate. A hand landed on her shoulder and without looking she knew who it was. Instead of turning straight away she looked up into Bills eyes for one last time before she closed her eyes and curved around. The hand that rested on her aided her up without any difficulty, the pain had vanished. Billy smiled down at her and she knew she wasn't alone for eternity, she still had her family. With one concluding lean Laura rested her lips against Bills wet check. Laura slipped her hand into Billy's and smiled up at his lively face and started to walk towards the hall of eternity.
