Hey guys! I know I've been slow with my other GippalxRikku fic (Not So Ordinary), but I didn't really plan it out enough so it's taking awhile. But here's a cute little oneshot to hold you kiddies over!

Oh yeah, and by the way, unfortunately I don't own any of the wonderful characters from Final Fantasy X-2!

Sunshine

Thunder crashed, lightning struck, and rain came down in sheets. Everyone agreed this was the worst storm the Thunder Plains had seen in ages. Only one person decided to rough the storm; one lonely Al-Bhed girl sat in the midst of it all, quiet sobs barely audible over the roaring thunder. She was soaked, her beautiful blonde locks plastered against her pale face.

Sometimes it's had when rain's pouring in
I used to worry
What tommorrow would bring

After hoursand hours of the raindrops and tears mingling and sliding down her face only to fall upon her chest, a hand grasped hers and gently pulled her upright. At first the girl was startled, but after she laid her green swirled eyes on an identical solitary orb, her sad tears turned into happy ones. Gippal pulled Rikku close and wrapped his arms around her.

Then you came along
Changed my world around
Gave me something to believe in
When I'm upside down

No words had to be spoken because they both knew what had brought them here despite the storm raging around them, their intense love for each other. Love so pure and true could easily overcome the clouds surrounding them. Slowly but surely, the thunder quieted, the rain dissipated, and the lightning stopped.

And let me say I owe it all to you
And I wanna thank you
For making the sun come
Shining through

A golden beam of sunlight broke through the clouds and covered the embracing couple in it's shining splendor, warming and drying them both. Rikku picked her head up from it's place on Gippal's chest. For the second time that day, their eyes met and they stood gazing at each other.

Now that we're together

Swear I'm gonna love you forever
Now that we're together

You bring the sunshine to my life

Rikku brushed Gippal's hair out of his face and placed a light kiss on his lips. "How did you know to find me here?", she asked. He smiled and responded, "Because I know you better than you think, Rikku." She placed another soft kiss on his waiting lips. "But how did you..." Gippal stopped her words with his thumb. "I love you Rikku." Her eyes widened and this time the kiss she planted on his mouth was strong and passionate.

If you should find

Just turn head in my direction
And I'll do the same to you

When they parted, Rikku whispered, "I love you too, Gippal."

And let me say from the bottom of my heart
I wanna thank you
For making the sun come shining through

Now the sun was shining with all it's might on the couple. And holding hands they started their trek back to Djose Temple, too infatuated with each other to notice the giant rainbow that had replaced the gray skies.
