Okay, so, in honour of Global Maplestory's sixth anniversary, I decided to write this one-shot!

This is my first try at writing this kind of stuff, so please, review it if you have the time.

Otherwise, enjoy!

The Maple Tree

Aisint smiled. The time of year had come again when the hill opened its doors to all Adventurers.

The Maple Anniversary.

He knew by the warm feeling in the back of his mind. It happened every year, a celebration of all the wonders of the Maple World. Across the continent maple leaves stuck to the faces of men and women, and even the monsters seemed a bit happier.

There was cake, of course. You couldn't have the Anniversary without cake. He felt his mouth watering at the mere thought of it.

Kaylee glanced over at her companion, and saw the drool running down from the corner of his mouth.

"You're thinking about the cake, aren't you?"

"You know me too well, Kaylee."

"Honestly, do you ever think of anything but your sweet tooth and fighting monsters?"

"I think about you. It's split three ways, okay?"

She smirked at him. Sure, he was a bit of a doofus, but you couldn't blame Aisint for being...well, Aisint.

"Come on then. I hear Cassandra's giving out free cake to people who bring her a hundred maple leaves!"

The air rushed to fill the space where a few seconds ago Aisint had been standing.

She blinked once, then, shaking her head lightly, sped after him. This year, at least, she'd be able to share the cake with him.

Delicious cake for those who review! (Warning: Cake may not actually be delicious or real).
