This is a reboot of my original story, since that story was crap, and I like to think that my writing skills have improved
Prologue
Somewhere, in the middle of a forest where the trees had grey leaves and the air was always foggy, was a small village. The inhabitants were thieves and crooks, bandits and murderers. Every turn around any corner could be your last. Gangs of people sat on the sides of the run down cobblestone path that the buildings were constructed around, eyeing each other down. Suddenly, everyone's attention was jerked towards the sound of shattering glass. A small figure jumped out of the broken window of the display case, holding a small loaf of bread, and dashed down the street, leaving behind a small trail of smoke. The storekeeper shouted angrily yelled after the thief, despite the fact that more people stole from his store rather than actually buying from it. The gang members looked at each other, unfazed by what just happened.
"Was it 'him' again?" One of them asked.
"Yeah," said another. "It was him."

Further down the streets, the small figure that had stolen the loaf of bread turned and ran into an alley, the trail of smoke disappearing as he slowed to a halt. He stood still, holding the small bread loaf in his arms, as if waiting for something. Then a quiet voice squeaked up from behind a stack of hay.
"Noah? Is that you?"
The boy, Noah, was fairly tall for his age, a kid under the age of ten. He wore a tattered grey shirt and torn tan colored cloth as pants. Noah's hair and eyes were both pitch black, and he had a long scar across the bridge of his nose.
"Yeah," Noah responded. "I'm back."
A little girl with orange hair and eyes peeked out from behind the stack of hay. she wore the same thing that Noah had, only her shirt was also tan.
"How did it go?" the girl asked Noah.
"It went well Holly," he answered, "considering I didn't get caught."
Holly got up and walked over to Noah.
"What did you get today?"
"I got your favorite kind of bread."
Holly's eyes widening with joy as she saw what Noah was holding in his arms.
"Oh my gosh, thank you Noah!" she whispered loudly.
"Anything for my little sister," Noah said with a soft smile while handing the bread to Holly.
The little girl sat back down behind the hay stacks and began to eat the bread as Noah sat down on top of it. The twins were orphaned at very young age, which forced Noah into a position where he had to learn how to take care of himself and his sister. He had to learn how to fight, how to steal, both of which he didn't enjoy.
"Hey Noah?" Holly asked with her mouth full.
"Yes?"
She swallowed her food before spoke.
"Are you really going to get us intoone of those school?"
"That's what I promised you," Noah sighed. "I'm getting us into the schools, one way or another. It's the life you want, right?"
Holly nodded as she took another bite of bread.
"Then it's my job to make sure it's the life you get."
Noah looked up into the foggy sky, wondering how he would actually get himself and his sister into one of the best known schools in all of Sanus, Beacon Academy.
