Christmas music was pumping out of every stereo and c player in the lab as CSI Eric Delko made his way through the building, searching for Horatio so he could sign off his case. It was still 5 days until Christmas and he was sick of all the music and merry people around him. He didn't hate Christmas; he just hated how the festive season had become just another capitalist market. He hated it, really hated it.
"Hey Eric, Merry Christmas." He turned around; ready to shot who ever had just said the two words that were currently poison to his ears. But when he turned around he saw her stood there, smiling at him, her arms folded across her chest.
"You're son is not very happy with you at the moment." He sighed, hanging his head as he walked towards her.
She smiled at him, a small smile the held all of her amusement.
"What have I done now?" He sounded just like their eldest son.
"Well, he says that Daddy told him that Christmas was a bad thing and that Santa wouldn't bring him anything because you had shot him and hidden his body!" She raised an eyebrow at her husband, waiting for an answer and it made him feel uncomfortable. "Eric, he's 3! He doesn't understand about the economy or profits, anything like that. All he understands is that he thinks you have killed Santa. I dread to think what you told Tim."
He sighed, nodding in agreement with her. Maybe he had gone off the deep end just a little bit by telling the boy that Santa didn't exist because he'd killed him. The poor boy had burst into tears and run to Calleigh.
"I might have gone a little OTT." She nodded. He felt like such a child.
"Well, when we get home tonight, you are going to tell David that you are sorry and that Santa does exist," "But he doesn't," Calleigh shot him a glare that made him close his mouth. Sighing, she softly cupped his face, resting her forehead against his.
"Eric, do you remember being his age, so care free and innocent. Santa was so magical, and he's a child, that's what he believes, let him have his innocence for just a few more years…please." Eric smiled straight into her eyes, nodding slightly as her hands fell to shoulders. "Good, now kiss me, we're stood under mistletoe!" He grinned, lifting her up in his arms so as to fore fill her command. Maybe Christmas wasn't so bad after all…
