It was nothing, Kaye had told her mother, shrugging off the harsh words that reached her ears. She had explained about being Roiben's consort, about what it entitled, what she would have to do.
Then, the question's started. Ellen fired off one after another, ending the 3rd degree with the famous, "And where did you sleep last night?" She had demanded, almost fearing the answer.
"The Unseelie Court." Kaye had replied, moving out the door. "With Roiben, of course."
At the gasp her mother gave, Kaye turned to grin. "Nothing happened." She told her mother, turning at the tug on her hand.
"Yet." Roiben's smile was pointed at her, fingers twined in hers
"I heard that!" Ellen yelled, laughing now from the sheer stupidity of it all.
"Me too." Kaye told her mother, grinning and following Roiben out of her mother's apartment.
