Nightmare
SPN 100 Drabble Challenge, word: jar.
Summary: In dreams you see ordinary things taken out of context, leaving you confused and disorientated. It's even worse when it happens in reality.
He has a vast variety of nightmares to choose from. But one of the most disturbing is about jars.
Jars on a dusty shelf, one filled with buttons in all shapes and colors, another with glasses, some badly scratched or broken.
One with keys that would never again open the door to someone's home or car or mailbox.
It makes him sick to the stomach – the twisted hunter's codex they represent. To make use of everything the prey had to offer, thus valuing the life that's been sacrificed.
It's worse than any monster, the darkness in the soul of men.
