I wrotw this on New Years Day, 1st January 2012. It was a Sunday night and I thought, "Why not? It's the first day of the year." And I'm so glad that I did. Not one of my best, though.
"Cam? What's for breakfast?" Tracy Beaker roared passively into the corridor of her home.
"Make it yourself," Cam growled back. "I'm running late for my interview with J.K. Rowling."
"How cool," said Tracy. "Tell her to dedicate her next Harry Potter book to me."
Cam said, "She's finished all Harry Potters", while slipping out of the house. "I won't be back until tomorrow!"
Tracy growled. It's just like Cam to leave without feeding her. One day she'd return home to find nothing but a bag of bones. Tracy had an idea.
At the Dumping Ground, Sapphire got a call. It was Tracy. "Ugh. What does that manky loo brush want?" she said, not realising that Tracy had sorted out her hair years ago. She picked up the phone.
"Hi Saph. I'm having a house party today cos Cam's gone out. Come and bring some friends."
Sapphire called Gina. "I'm going out."
Tracy got a knock on the door. She opened it and saw 3 girls, Sapphire... "Lindsey and Renika."
The house party began. Lindsey danced to the latest Jessie J song while Tracy brought out the turkey nuggets which Sapphire enjoyed.
"Where's Renika?" said Tracy. But the music was too loud so no one heard her. Tracy went to her bedroom, and looked in the mirror. Then she suddenly looked on her bed where there was a lump under her blanket. She saw Renika, cold staring eyes and a bleeding nose. Then she giggled.
"Haha, great joke, Renika. Wait till I tell the others."
But Renika didn't move. Tracy screamed!
The police stood outside Tracy's door. They took Renika's body away. Lindsey continued dancing but Sapphire and Tracy stayed still. They were too upset. Tracy went to the kitchen to get out a drink, when suddenly; she got kicked in the back. She fell to the floor and saw Lindsey's upside down face. As Lindsey's hands seized the dark knife, all Tracy heard were the lyrics:
"Who's laughing now?"
