Title : The melody of forbidden love
Author : DiBee
Summary : Helen playing the piano, and John's vision of it. Romance
Disclaimer : Nothing is mine but the music sheets, I'm just borrowing the characters, and promise to give them back unharmed, and maybe even slightly happier.
Rating : K
Note : Set at the beginning of Helen/John's relationship (or rather before their engagement)
The idea came to me as I glanced (glared, rather) at the music sheets by my side. I thought, even if I totally mess those up tomorrow, at least I can try getting something positive out of it. So here's my attempt at 'positivity' :p

Sometimes, all she needed was to see a couple notes on a music sheet. Sometimes, all she needed was to hear a bird sing.
Sometimes, all she needed was for her lover to hold her in his arms.
And then the music would flow.
Freely, slowly, piano, appassionato, like the love they shared, hidden beneath the surface of righteousness, one could see, hear the joy of the bond.
He had always liked to watch her play. It was not so much for what she was playing in itself, although it was quite pleasing, it was more about the glow of her face, her grace, and her smile. She always smiled when she played, even if she had tears on her cheeks. It brought her the peace and healing the outer world, nor him, could not provide. And he would slip his arms around her waist, his cheek resting on the top of her head, his eyes closed, trying to decipher the true meaning of her notes. More than once, she had been playful enough to start playing a lullaby and he had pulled apart, she had gotten up, and they had kissed like the world was about to end.
Because, when she stopped playing, it felt a bit like the world was ending. But a new one was soon beginning, a new one in which they had a place together, most of the times lying side by side in her bed.
For him, the world would never really end, because wherever they were, whenever she could be within his reach, she would be tapping over his arm, sleeve, or whatever surface within her reach, really. Playing the melody of forbidden love.
