A Problem By Lightning Rain

"Stupid ball…" I muttered under my breath.

I needed to find a date, plain and simple. Harry and I had even promised each other we have a date by tonight. But there I was at six o'clock with nothing, zilch, zero, not even an attempt. I bumped into someone while I was mentally kicking myself. The tall boy looked preoccupied. I instantly recognized him as my old idol ,Victor Krum, Seeker extraordinaire, champion for Durmstrang and now the guy who just bumped me and seemed not even to notice. Great, am I really that lame?

Shaking my head, I cleared what I could of it to focus on my real problem, finding a date. Scratch that, finding food, I though as my stomach rumbled. Maybe after some food, I'd be able to nab a date.

After an 'utterly grotesque' dinner according to Hermione, which I personally found quite nice, I ambled into the entrance hall, letting my mind wander over some ideas:

Break my leg so I don't have to go… na to much pain, done that once.

Take Morning Myrtle?... no no no not a good idea there, besides she has her hopes on Harry hmmm…

I glanced up when I heard some giggling and stop transfixed by what I saw. Long white blond hair cascading over one shoulder, glimmering blue eyes, a perfect face, blue silk hugging curves….

"WOULDYOUGOTOTHEBALLWITHME!" I heard some idiot shout at the blond, except it came from my own mouth. Damn. My senses caught up with me, they sounded oddly like Hermione wielding a sledge hammer. My brain left the building to avoid the onslaught .The world became very fuzzy as I stumbled quickly away right into a nice stone wall. I fell down clumsily, in the background I heard laughter and a hand grabbing my arm and tugging me away.

'….red hair…must be Ginny….' I sluggishly thought.

I stayed in my dream like state till we arrived at the fat lady where I promptly freaked. And at this point is where Ms. JK Rowling took me back into her story. Luckily she left out the wall part.
