While the worlds were recovering from the most recent wave of Heartless, Riku found himself wandering around in the castle, thinking about nothing in particular as he stumbled across the computer. They had only used it to restore the data of Jiminy's diary, but it seemed like it contained new data. Confused, Riku searched through the system, and recovered an old, long forgotten set of data. But it was heavily damaged, and in no shape to really be used.
Though, it had worked with the diary data, so why shouldn't it work with that special data, too? Without telling anyone about his discovery, Riku sat down in front of the machine, opening the strange data and starting to study it...
-File: Minwu. Initiating Scan... Error: Data corrupted-
"So I can't see what exactly it is before I have restored it." Riku muttered, scratching his temple lightly.
How exactly was he supposed to work with the strange data if he didn't know what it contained? Riku pondered for a while, then he decided to research a few things before he would explore this strange data any further. Who knew, maybe it would help them in their fight against the Heartless some time soon.
Leaving the computer as it was, Riku got up and searched through the library, until he found an old, slightly dusty grimoire. On the back of the book, with golden letters (which had lost most of its shine), the name 'Minwu' had been engraved. So it was exactly about the mysterious data he had found in the system.
With the book in his lap, Riku worked his way through the little data the computer could access. Apparently, a long time ago, someone had entered a quite big file into the computer, though it had been lost over the years and had been, in some way, corroding in a corner of the system.
Why had Riku found it, then? He bit on his lower lip as he tried to think about an explanation, but found none for the moment. But that wasn't the most important bit for now. He had to start and work on repairing the data. Having a file full of bugs, and most possibly some viruses, was never a funny thing to happen.
Again glimpsing down at the grimoire, Riku then decided to open a part of the file called White Magic, Basic Knowledge. It wasn't only a file about one version of Minwu, as he soon found out from comparing the data with the grimoire. It more likely was a quite accurate copy of Minwu's whole life.
Now that was an impressive thing. Riku leaned back, staring at the monitors displaying the various, if limited, possibilities where he could work on restoring the data. He was this focused on his task that he didn't notice Sora had sneaked into the room and was watching him closely.
"What are you doing there, Riku?"
"Sora! Gods, don't scare me like that."
"Sorry, Riku. Now tell me, what have you found there? Something from the diary again, or is it something else?"
"No, it's a completely different data. It was in some corner of the system, in some way, and I happened to somehow find it. It's almost like it called me to open it."
"Now that's weird. But I guess we should make the best of it while we're at it."
"We? Please, Sora, you surely have something be-"
"No, I want to help you, Riku. Don't exclude me again!"
Sighing and smiling then, Riku ruffled through Sora's hair. "Alright, you can help me, if I find something you can do for me. Deal?"
"Deal."
