Stars
The stars were the only thing you knew. It was something you lived for, what you had since you were a child, where your own parents searched endlessly for new stars and planets-something you too enjoyed. The stars were a place you knew you could find the true meaning of life; what was there in store for you in the greater scheme of things.
You see the ruins of your ship, the Normandy, the first of its kind, the stars cowering behind the great rage of flame that engulfed those ruins, and the planet below, Alchera, slowly nearing you.
You felt your life flashing right before your eyes-all your achievements, failures, firsts and lasts- all of them slipping away. You feel the oxygen leaving your suit, suffocating you slowly and painfully. Though you may be dying, you felt relaxed, unafraid of Death's hands pulling you.
Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you
And all the things you do
And it was called 'yellow'
You are a memory to those who knew you, and to some, you are a symbol of greatness.
