Things Godric Does Not Do
Disclaimer: The characters and Salazar's departure are not mine.
Summary: After Salazar leaves, Godric finds a letter. The finding of the letter most definitely does not spark a negative reaction. GGSS slash, implied. Triple drabble, if you want, but that just sounds really sad...
Godric:
I have not forgotten what we argued over last night, and seemingly all the nights before that. We have never seen eye-to-eye on that point, Godric. We probably never will. It seems to me that if you insist on continuing to run our school this way, one of us will eventually have to leave. I am a proud man, Godric. But you, of all people, should know this, perhaps even better than the others. I will not let my wishes be trodden upon. This is why I leave, Godric. Let you, Rowena and Helga run the school your own way. You will be fine without me.
Reluctant as I am to leave my own creation, I have packed, and by the time you receive this letter, I will have left the school for good, perhaps to start over anew. Farewell, Godric. Do not try to find me.
Salazar
Godric stares at the letter in shock, Salazar's cold, venomous voice running through his head. Do not try to find me. He lets memories of all the arguments they have ever had run through him: the little spats that all friends have had, and recently, the increasing amount of violent disagreements they've had over their ideals. We've never seen eye-to-eye on that point, Godric. We probably never will. He focuses on all the obstacles of they're relationship, and does not think of how that little part of his heart has died with Salazar's relationship. After all, he does not miss Salazar.
He does not think of the life they could have lead. He does not think of all the fantasies his mind has never had. He does not think of how he has never thought of Salazar as more than a friend.
He does not pretend Salazar has ever loved him back.
