DON'T KNOW WHY I WROTE THIS I JUST FELT THE URGE IT'S JUST A RAMBLING ANYWAY...
"Lee if the operation fails I will die with you."
"I'm so sorry Gai..."
Tsunade had said to him her gloves still drenched in his students blood. She wouldn't look at him her eyes were red she had tried her hardest...
At first he thought she was joking just as he did before.
He heard the monotonous tone of the heart beat monitor as itplayed one continuous note.
Tsunade never told jokes.
Gai pushed his way past her and ran into the operating room he did not fly throuh the window or break the door down while screaming dynamic entry. Nor was a smile on his face.
the odds were fifty fifty but that didn't mean it was certain.
It was then thhat he saw him, his student his youthful pupil hooked up to more machines and tubes than he had dared to count his eyes were empty the youthful flames that he had admiredand praised had died extinguished by the icy waters of death.
Miracles never happen even for one as splendid as Lee.
He stood there for the longest time just waiting for the fire to return to the boys eyes just waiting for him to give him the nice guy pose like they always did he waited and waited.
It didn't happen...
and for a moment he felt that he too had died it wasn't until the medical nins had come to drag him out that he finally broke free of his daze.
Then it hit him.
He did the only thing he could he screamed the sound not of a man but of a wounded animal and heartbroken those around him could only look on in grief. The medic nins eased him into a chair.
He looked so broken.
Tsunade ran out of the room no one could blame her i wasn't her fault but that did nothing for the guilt.
He thought back to when the boy had trained under him.
"I'm going to prove that you don't need ninjutsu or genjutsu to become a splendidninja!"
" and i'll make sure you reach that goal Lee!" he had said flashing the nice guy pose.
"Lee..." his voice broke and he began to sob pitifully clutching his head in grief the tears were not youthful they were bitter and broken.
Everyone left the room They couldn't watch him anymore. A few of them patted him on the shoulder as they passed.
He knew what he had to do...
His eyes were filled with determination even as they were brimming with tears
He would keep his promise...
He would see his student soon.
