Throughout the week the Ra'kati were in and out. Sydney stayed in her room or played video games with her siblings. Sometimes she would drive Black Betty out to a shooting range and clean up her skills. Some days she would pack and move resistance members out to their new homes. Maa'lo did not report to his captain, that she drove recklessly in the roaring machine. Maa'lo decided it was best that he follow her during those times. His captain seemed a bit too concerned with keeping her safe. His captain made a grave mistake initially, treating her like a typical Ra'kati female, it was a painful lesson... for him. "No more fighting tiny female, it is done for you." He growled harshly at her. There was a loud crash followed "Fuck you", I*snarl* AM, *snarl* A, *growl and grunt* "resistance fighter long before you came here flyboy". There was a sound of cutting air and a series of dull thuds that ended in the wall. T'chr bellowed out in an angry pressured roar, "STOP With the Star claws!".
Street-C smirked and held out his hand to Nathan, and looked expectantly at him for payment. "Bruh, you may not like our furry girl, but I ain't dumb enough to bet against her." Nathan rolled his eyes and put a 5 dollar bill in Street-C's hand. Street-C wandered in the kitchen to look for some food. Jor'eth and Maa'lo waited on the side of the warehouse door for the fight to end. Jor'eth looked at Street-c, "How many?" he asked ears perked forward, Maa'lo shifted to indicate his partners' inappropriate conversation. "Only one Fam!" Street-c said with excitement. "Captain is learning" Jor'eth said smiling. Street-c nodded, then handed the tall black furred pilot a doughnut with sprinkles. "Oh the tiny sugar things," Jo'reth spoke happily "Very good" he purred. Street-c marveled at the way they Ra'kati as a race could be humanesque as in bipedal and yet so very alien at the same time.
Sydney of course understanding that one mans "no" is another mans', try differently. She would go out for mini runs and missions. Granted, the missions were given just so she could escape the overbearing Ra'Kati shadow. The captain forbade her from actively meeting with the resistance pre-mission. He did everything he could to discourage her involvement or missions. One morning, the Captain was lurking about under the guise of providing security. He noticed that the female was not there. He paced a little bit more than usual, then asked Jo'reth to inquire where she was. Robin said she had a quick mission last night, should be here anytime now. The message was relayed to the captain. The captain closed his eyes, put his hands to his head. Then reminded the human that the female is not to be involved in any more resistance activity. By and large, the resistance only remotely discouraged Sydney from missions. She was still family and that family took missions, from time to time. They were going to lose her forever sooner rather than later, best to let her get it out of her system. Robin looked through him, he dodged her stare, she was after all one of the females, mother figures. In translatable terms, as a queen mother, they held absolute power on his planet. He quickly turned on his heel and went to his talon. Loud words, slamming of things about could be heard in the warehouse.
Sydney heard someone having a tantrum in their talon. Sydney came walking up from the side alley she looked like a homeless person, smelled much worse. The outfit was all pink, street urchinized with dirt and grime, but pink. She had a hello kitty backpack slung over her shoulders and John Deere pink camo baseball cap. Sydney knocked on the talon, "Ya ok in there Princess" she tried to hide snickering. The door opened, she saw the captain, hair down, in his face, he was sweating, he had his flight suit pulled down to the waist. He wore a tight half shirt. "Mornin' Captain" she chirped, she waited for about 5 seconds 6 seconds 8, 9, 15, he did not respond with his usual "Those are not your words to use". He smelled the air around her then shook his head violently. "Yeah, it's me, gotta cover the scent, had to roll in some freshly peeled human skins, from the visitors." she pulled off a viscous piece of skin and flicked it on the ground. "You cannot be doing things as this" Your.' she cut him off sharply. "Daddy can take a back seat, big boy, this is for my pleasure." she purred. Squinting, he shook his head from side to side and closed up the talon. He could hear her laughing all the way into the warehouse. Part of him wanted to be rid of her and part of him wanted to hold her down. Byron was nearby she decided it would be a good idea to give him a giant hug from behind. "NOooooah stop, Ewwww, every time, why? "What the hell is wrong with you?". He snapped. Turning to him, she said, "If it's every time, then you should have had a defense against me lil dude" she pushed his head sideways. "I'm not going to be here forever, Byron, you need to learn defense," she said seriously. Sydney found Byron eating from a dumpster near a site she had to check out. He was about 2 years old, She brought him to the resistance and asked if she could keep him" she was 9 years old. Byron is her closest sibling. The other two talon pilots stood mortified at her appearance. She leaned in close to Jor'eth, just to watch him flinch, she wanted to say fuuuck slow and watch him lose it, but she opted not to. Sydney tormented enough of the warehouse residents this morning. "All clear there kitten?" Joseph the chef called out. "Clean and clear to the bone, just the way you like it." Walking by the room she placed the hello kitty bag in the corner, then cleaned up.
Maa'lo and Jo'reth flattened their ears back when the tiny one started singing in the shower, some of the people, put in earplugs. T'chr composing himself satisfied that the female is safe. The captain walked into the warehouse as she was singing. Pinning his ears back he looked at three of the moms and said loudly, "Why for this?" "Still not used to it?" Robin smiled at the captain. The captain sat outside of the hallway just far enough that he wouldn't be spying but close enough to see the tiny female, handle weapons like a seasoned warrior. After her guns were put away, she stood up and moved to the couch to play games with her "siblings". Julie, Izzy, and Katya were working on connecting with the other resistance nations with new tech compliments of the Zedti. Katyas' purple eyes study the couch and TV area, The female Ra'kati and about 5 half human half Visitor kids laughing and playing video games. Katya could sense the female Ra'kati chemicals shift suddenly. Sydney noogied the littlest girl Claire who has half a head of blonde hair and half a head of light green scales. Claire giggled then gleefully grabbed the game controller from her big sis Sydney. Sydney stood up stretched and yawned, put her hands to the side of her head pushing in, causing all the joints in her hands and fingers to snap. Katya watches the tiny female Ra'kati intensely. As does the captain. Jo'reth could smell his chemicals shift as well. "Captain!" Jo'reth tilted his head, looking at him with a sly look. "Time to move to the talons" T'chr grumbled, T'chr took long strides to move from the female as quickly as he is able. "Leaving so soon Captain?" Sydney teased waiting for him to give her a typical response. "Not soon enough small trouble" Sydney laughing at him as he petulantly stomped from the warehouse
Two days later While Julie and the Korean mother ship conversed, the screen on her computer flashed an urgent message. "Calvin to Hobbs, Calvin to Hobbs urgent message, reply ASAP." Julie smirked. Later Tetsuo, she thought and went back to opening communication channels to the East. Mike sat resting at the table with a patch on his left eye. His demeanor? Stoic. "Mike" Sydney said and nodded. "Hey if it isn't Hobbs!" with a smile. She missed him a lot, it angered her when she was told of his death after Diana's great purge in 99. Sydney pulled up a chair and held his hand and warmly said, "Wow, a real live zombie". Mike chortled, he missed her as well as so many of the resistance fighters he was separated from. Ham came by dropped off a cup of coffee for Mike and Sydney. Ham sat next to Sydney and looking at Mike and said, "Welcome back gooder" and leaned back in the chair. It was good to see the two of them bury a very nasty hatchet. Diana's conversion process had been upgraded by her superior Charles. Charles pitted Ham versus Donovan, it was an ugly scene damn near tore the resistance apart.
The resistance coffee clutch spoke to and of those who were lost and those who went on to other areas. Ham being pleasant with updating Mike as to the who what and whereabouts of certain members. Sydney chiming in with yeah they have kids now, or they have taken over a mountain resort and other trivial information. Sydney relaxed a little bit feeling warm from the hormones shifting, she felt like jello for a brief minute. Hyper aware of her body language and her pupils dilating, Ham suggested that its time to see "Julie about a tiger." Which is code for you need to get your hormone shot now. Ham went on about how he is not taking on any more of her kind. Sydney looked at him with pure mortification. Ham went on, "Well you have your pick of the litter". He said teasing. She narrowed her eyes and huffed. Mike and Ham laughed loudly. Sydney unconsciously sauntering over to Julie, unaware her tail swished seductively. The captain became very aware of the small females, chemical situation, his body, chemicals changing also. The two mates gave each other a quizzical look then continued to talk about the weapons, the odd family members, the small females, deadly skills and her horrible language use. "Mom," she said. Julie gave her the give me a minute look behind her glasses. "Moooom" Sydney whined mockingly, then started again "mooooooooooooooom" Julie whipped off her glasses and stared harshly at the furry adult girl child and snapped at her "What?!" Julie looked up and saw that Sydney's' vertical pupils had started to dilate, a sweaty sheen to her fur just began to shine through. Julie right away knew her cycle is near. Sydney had to have her hormone shot today. "Honey go shower, then lay in your room until I bring the serum." Sydney nodded, then headed down the hall to where the showers are. The captain, moved toward her as she was walking by, "Problem?" she said with her hands on her hips, tail swishing unconsciously in a teasing fashion. He took in a deep breath and then slowly blinked at her with his golden eyes and smirked at her. Sydney rolled her eyes and sauntered down the hallway. T'chr took in the glory that was this female. The smaller Ra'kati nudged the tallest one and pointed to their captain, who was amorously studying the tiny female with excitement, yet again. "Captain!" said Maa'lo, with a question behind the sounds. Rich sepia eyes looked at his captain with suspicion. Jor'eth, raised a brow and making a comment about how their captain found something worth looking at. This snapped him out of his stupor caused by the tiny female. The three pilots returned to their ships.
The showers' decor is postmodern, unintentional industrial, with old plastic sheets nailed to the ceiling. A small window that was open to let out the steam. Sydney found the radio with a tape cassette titled to Hobbs with love from DJ Calvin. Sydney pressed play then cranked the volume.
Sydney started singing along with the flock of seagulls, "With auburn hair and tawny eyes…. that hypnotize me through..." Showering with music is the very best. Sydney dancing and washing her hair still singing, "and I ran... ran so far away... I couldn't get away" Melodic pentatonic beats with a specific Japanese sound and a tenor voice start in "Winter city sides crystal bits of snowflakes all around my head and in the wind" Big in Japan by Alphaville came next. It brought fond memories of her time in Japan. It reminded her the first time she saw snow with her new friend Tetsuo. A Japanese human boy about 13 years old. It was her 3rd night in Hokkaido, she had just been transferred there to hide from Diana. He took her hand and they ran outside in the snow at night. It was magic, the world was hushed, he held her hand until her body would no longer let her. Sydney missed Tetsuo, while he could never sexually connect with her, sometimes just a touch of that sentiment from an amorous friend made her feel not so alone. More than that they had fun, they would play video games, practice sword fighting, dance, cook, watch old movies. It made her loneliness so much more bearable in the past. Not today, however, the golden eye captain, held her attention, consensual or not. Sydney, conflicted, by the attentive male of her species. She felt like her attention to the new male, in some way could be like cheating on Tetsu. Even though he could not touch her without her body reacting violently, there was a bond forged in those times. It was a one-sided bond physically, but emotionally they are each others', first love.
