Before I start, I do not own Teen Titans or Slade (even though I wish I did! Slade is great!)
Enjoy the story! (If you can...)
"I'm real enough to end you!"
Robin's eyes widened as Slade charged him. He quickly grasped the light switch and pulled it with all the strength he had left. It lifted with a tortured groan.
The light flickered to life and Slade disappeared. Robin sighed in relief and slumped down into the metal bar...
Then the light buzzed and shut down. Robin stared at his last hope in silent shock. It had failed him.
Nonononononono!
"Well, Robin, I see you've failed to get rid of me yet again."
Robin gasped in pain as a blow hit him in the back of the head. Apparently since Robin's only source of light was gone and his friends were not there yet Slade decided to mess with him.
Before he killed him, of course, since Slade seemed to want to end him pretty badly.
Robin stumbled forward. He collapsed as his legs turned to jelly with exhaustion and hit the ground with a thud. He could hear Slade moving closer. Then he felt a hand find a grip in his hair and drag him up. The teen bit back a cry as this happened. Why wouldn't this just end?
"Poor Robin. Your friends think you're insane and now you're alone in the dark."
He threw him away.
"Goodbye, Robin," Slade spat, his words layered with venom and despise.
I'm sorry Titans...
There was a flash of white in Robin's vision, and then he knew no more.
It was a sad day for the Titans.
The teens had gone to the church in their best. Cyborg and Beastboy were in suits and Starfire and Raven in black dresses.
Robin's death had been hard on them and they had all reacted in their own, different ways.
Beastboy had moped about the tower. He blamed himself. The others knew he had bawled his eyes out when the door to his room shut no matter how much he denied it.
Cyborg refused to do anything but read all of Robin's files. From his human eye slipped tears as he read the things Robin himself had typed when he had still been breathing.
Raven was found standing in Robin's room as if she was reliving memories and being in his room helped her clear those images of their once great leader.
Starfire...oh, Starfire. The alien girl was absolutely devastated. She wailed and sobbed all hours of the day in the solitude of her room. They could hear her in her misery, but nobody could help. She made the Titans feel so useless in her mourning.
Robin had been a dedicated leader. He made his mistakes like any other, but led them into battle successfully every time that villains called for destruction. He knew the risks and he knew that Slade was one of the most dangerous men on the planet. He still fought bravely on despite the odds. He could have died every single moment he lived on the Earth but chose to saves lives of others anyways.
Death was commonplace in their line of work, but...that still didn't mean it ever got any easier for those left in the aftermath.
Some would say it was harder for those left behind than those that left. The Titans agreed wholeheartedly.
Losing Robin had torn them apart piece by piece until they were nearly as dead as he was.
Wow, a bit dark, huh?
Yeah, I guess leave a review if you want or just leave. Views are enough for me, since I get excited any time someone even looks at my stories. I hope you enjoyed? Um, enjoy may not be the right word unless you like really dark death-fics like I do...I hope you got sad? Oh dear, this is hard...
I hope you were pleased with how I handled this alternate ending to the episode Haunted.
(There!)
Have a great day! (If it's day where you are!)
