Prompt: Love Don't Have to be so Hard – Trent Willmon
Emily wondered why love had to be so hard. She was currently having an internal fight with herself. Her inner voice was telling her that love don't have to be so hard but she kept ignoring her inner voice. After all she has been in love Hotch for longer than she cared to admit and she knew that he was in love with her.
Yet neither of them had made a move towards the other. She saw the way he looked at her and she knew he saw the way that she looked at him. She just couldn't decide if they should finally do something about it though. She knew what was stopping her and she hated that she was so insecure. She thought that she wasn't good enough for him.
She looked up at his office and saw him standing there by his window looking down at her. She gave him a smile and a little wave and when she saw him actually smile back her heart started beating faster. She lived for those rare smiles of his. No matter what was going wrong in her day if she saw one of Hotch's smiles it always brightened her day.
She looked back down at her desk as she thought more and more of Hotch. She was completely in love with him and it scared her. She's been in love before but never like this. Once again her inner voice piped in with that love didn't have to be so hard. She sighed as her eyes flicked back to Hotch's office once more. Maybe just maybe her inner voice was right after all. Maybe love didn't have to be so hard.
