Time to realize.

Fandom: Glee

Pairings: Finn / Santana, Finn / Rachel, Rachel / Jessie.

Author's Note: This story was inspired by my third or fourth viewing of "The power of Madonna"

When Santana had walked up to him and called him "finnocence", combining his name and the word innocence, he hadn't really thought about it, but later he realized that even though it was probably unintentional, she was right about him. When she had continued on to say that everything about him "Screamed virgin", she had been right again, but not only in the sexual sense. Finn was a virgin when it came to life. He was pure and untouched by all the bad the world had to offer. Sure he was aware of the high school bullying, not to mention the way Santana had only been looking out for herself when she had made the offer, but really, in the grand scheme, that was nothing. Sure he felt bad when he finally worked out that Santana didn't even care about him a little, but who wouldn't? On the whole, that was small potatoes compared to the dark side the world could, and very well might, slap him with in the not too distant future. Not that it was his fault, living in such a middle of nowhere town was bound to keep him sheltered, after all. Considering this, it truly was no wonder he had believed Quinn about the baby for so long. When the other football players would hang around in the locker room after practice, swapping stories about what cheerleader, or in Puck's case, who's mother, he had bedded, Finn simply went along, hoping they wouldn't notice that he never volunteered any stories of his own. After he and Santana had done the deed, and he had told her he hadn't felt anything" Because it didn't mean anything", he was lying. He had felt something, it just wasn't a positive something. What he had felt was guilt. Guilt because in his heart of hearts, he knew your first time was supposed to be special and his wasn't. If he was being honest with himself, what he had experienced while practicing that Madonna mash-up, while fully clothed, had somehow been more of what he thought sex would be like, if the feelings of sated satisfaction were any indication. All the while they were doing it, he had been consumed by thoughts of a different girl entirely and after a while, he just wished she'd hurry up and finish. Also, Santana had been kind of aggressive about the whole thing. Not being used to this type of treatment, he found himself swept along in her wake, doing whatever she told him to. When he lied to Rachel about not having done it, using what he hoped was a convincing tone, she wasn't the only one he had been trying to persuade to believe in the lie. Looking into her eyes when she had said she had gone all the way with Jessie made him think that she had been lying too, but he wasn't sure why. Maybe she wanted him to be jealous? Not for the first time, Finn realized that girls were confusing creatures.
