"No."

Naruto had a bemused look on his face. If he could have crossed his arms, he would have. The intensity of his frown was unmoving, he would not comply with their ridiculous request. It was pointless and silly, and he was shocked that his own twin and little sister/Time Remnant could even conceive such an absurd notion.

"Come on." Tsukiko whined, holding up the fluffy white lined red hat with a white bobble on the end, a 'Santa' hat. "It's a tradition."

"It is also a tradition for the eldest child of a clan head, if another is chosen as heir, to teach said heir in all of their skills and submit to being the vassal of the new heir. I got my arm cut off and went full Version 2 Tailed Beast Cloak in rebellion of that." The Hellfire Dragon Slayer deadpanned. "I have never complied with human traditions."

"It's a festive thing." Naruko insisted. "Out of common decency, you have to."

"No."

"You will wear this hat and you will do so without complaining or so help me, I will drown you again." Naruko's voice was beginning to raise.

"NO!" Naruto shouted at her, eyes blazing crimson. "I will not wear that hat, or do I have to remind you how you lost to me back then?!"

"Stop it!" Tsukiko interrupted, the shouting beginning to upset her. Both older siblings stopped and looked apologetically at the small 11 year old. Turning to her brother with wide, glistening eyes, as if she was about to cry, she almost sobbed, "Please?"

He was torn. He would never willing wear such a preposterous garment but he would also never intentionally upset his baby sister. Then she said two words that got him every time.

"For me?"

He sighed in defeat. "Alright. I'll wear the Santa hat." What he didn't say was 'if only to make you happy Tsuki'.

Her face immediately brightened up and she hugged him tight. When she released him, she put the hat on his head and he forced a smile.

10 Hours Later

'How did you two ever talk me into this?' Naruto wondered as Tsukiko went to sleep against his chest happily, snuggling against his fiery warmth.

'You love us, that's why.' Naruko responded, amused.
