N.P.O.V

"I'm terribly sorry, Ms Granger."

Tallulah Granger stumbled back into a poorly stuffed armchair as the doctors words sunk in. 'I have cancer. I'm not going to make it.' She thought, fighting tears as she watched her four year old daughter pull out worn out toys from a cardboard box in the corner of the room.

"That's impossible. I can't have cancer; I have too much to do." She said stubbornly, proving that she was indeed a Granger. The doctor smiled, in a calm, non-amused way.

"I'm afraid that cancer doesn't work that way, surely a smart girl like yourself would know that. You're going to have to stay here at the hospital for treatment." She snorted and jerked a hand towards the small girl who had just discovered an old My Little Pony with its hair chopped off from children before her.

"Well then, what do you suggest I do with Alex?"

"I suggest you find a relative that can look after her until further notice." With that he stood up, and left the room, ruffling Alex's hair as he walked past. Tallulah grabbed her phone and started searching through her contacts. She didn't have many relatives left, and her parents were killed by that Wizard. The only one she had left was her younger sister, Hermione. She was eighteen this year, and she had gone back to Hogwarts for her seventh year, which meant she could ask the staff for help. From what Tallulah had heard, they were very caring…besides that Snape guy.

She found Hermione's name on her phone and clicked call.

"Hello?"

"Yeah, Hermione, It's me. Um, I really need your help…"

H.P.O.V

I was standing in McGonagall's office, half hoping she would agree, and half hoping she wouldn't. What would all the other professors have to say? What would the students say? She would have to stay in the head dorms with me and the head boy. That will be interesting. McGonagall stopped writing, sighed and leant her head on her hands.

"Well, Miss Granger, I have never expected a student to request they bring a toddler into the grounds. If I agreed on such a thing, there would be the issue of your schoolwork and grades dropping." I flinched, not even thinking of that before. She raised her eyebrows, but continued

"But, because of your already outstanding grades, and your sister's condition, I have no choice but to say yes. Filch will bring all the girl's needs to the Head dormitories tonight, and I will personally fetch the girl myself. Good day, Miss Granger."

"Thank you so much, Professor. I promise you, you will not regret this decision."

"I hope I don't, Granger, I really do." I thanked her once again and raced back to class, trying to find an easy way to explain this to my friends…and Head boy, Draco Malfoy.
