A/N: My interpretation of the two conversations shared by Willow and Tara in "New Moon Rising."
She watched as he walked out the door. She couldn't believe they had talked all night. Not once had he changed into his wolf form. It was so…incredible, so…amazing. Yet, she didn't feel happy. If anything, she felt confused.
Her boyfriend, Oz, had come back to her, just like she had hoped he would. Yet…there was…Tara. She stood up, talking to the empty bed.
"I mean, sure, Oz was great. He was…is a musician; he brought me out of my shell, really made me open up. I mean, he really cared about me. But…Tara…" She paced around the room, smiling as she remembered the night her and Tara had levitated the rose. Before it went out of control.
"Boy, my emotions were haywire that night; no wonder—oh god." She stopped, staring at the dorm room door. "It's…HER." She raced to the door, flinging it open. "I have to find her!"
She stood outside the door moment later, taking a couple deep breaths before finally knocking. Her breath caught in her throat as Tara opened the door.
"Willow."
"Tara. Hi. Uh…can I come in?"
"Sure."
Willow stepped inside, turning around to face Tara as she shut the door. "Look, about last night—"
Tara's voice was quiet. "It's okay, I get it. You and Oz have a history."
"No, you don't get it." Willow paused. "I'm not even sure I get it. I'm just so…confused."
"Come here." Tara walked over, enveloping Willow in a warm hug. Without thinking, Willow nuzzled her neck, causing Tara to pull away. She peered at Willow, holding her at arm's length. "Listen, Willow, it's…really…its fine."
Willow pulled away. "No, it's not fine." She sat down on Tara' bed. "I mean, I know what Oz meant to me, but now…and then you…" Tara went to walk away, but Willow grabbed her by the hand. "But, then, I met you. And…we were doing magic and having a great time." Her eyes grew soft as she looked at Tara. "Tara, you came into my life when I least expected it; when I wasn't looking. I was hurting over Oz, but…you made the hurt go away. I mean, I love being with you…I-I can't imagine my life without you."
Tara walked closer to the bed, sitting down next to Willow, gently taking her hand. "Tara, you healed my heart. And…yeah, what Oz and I had was great, but…it's nothing compared to what I have with you." She brushed a strand of hair away from Tara's face. "I love you Tara. And…and…I'm going to make it up to you."
Tara smiled. "Starting now?"
"Starting now. I mean…I'm yours right?" Willow swallowed. "Forever?"
Tara smiled, pulling Willow close as she turned off the bedside lamp. "Forever."
