Summary: Colby has scars to prove that no bust and entry is a simple bust and entry. Drabble for tansysam's birthday. What? All you wanted was Colby! Happy Birthday.

Disclaimer: I don't own numb3rs.

It was supposed to be a simple bust and entry.

They were supposed to go in, get one individual, and go out.

The individual was an adult delinquent who had been diagnosed with developmental disabilities and needed assistance getting back to their house. Their legal guardian wanted them home.

No problem for the LAPD, so why was the FBI involved?

Because an LAPD officer had been locked in the house with the individual while trying to get the person with developmental disabilities out. They had been visiting someone else, a top, most wanted criminal, one that nobody was aware was in the house.

They learned the hard way.

The FBI and the SWAT team eventually had to go in on the raid. Colby, Don, and David had all been in on the raid.

Only Colby was injured. He'd been the one to find the suspect. Before he could say "hands on your head" he was tossed onto the floor and used as a human shield. Half an hour and two bullets later, everyone except for Colby was out of the house safely. Colby was checked out by the EMTs, who had told him that he really need to get stitched up at the local hospital.

Now, three hours later, Alan was down here at the hospital, checking Colby out. Since Colby had listed Alan as his next-of-kin, Alan was allowed to take him home. "What happened?" Alan said, looking at Colby's shoulder, nestled in a string. "Don said you were only doing light paperwork today!"

"Yeah, well," Colby quipped, "The plans changed."

"I can see that," Alan said, signing the papers and picking up Colby's prescriptions. When Colby held out his hand for the car keys, Alan shook his head. "No, you're not driving! Your sling is in a shoulder. And you're not going home alone, either," he added. "You're staying with us this weekend."

"Come on, Alan! I can do simple housework by myself," Colby said, sliding into a car.

Alan glanced at him. "Yes, you can, but knowing you, you'll try and do much more than that."

"Let me guess, orders from Don?" Colby said. The team had been planning a big raid this weekend he'd been looking forward too.

"Of course," Alan deadpanned. "Now let me know what happened during the case, since I'm guessing Don won't tell me. Unless there was no case or raid, that is, and you just really pissed off one of your co-workers. So, which one is right?"

Looking at Alan, Colby knew there was no way to get out of telling the man; yet Don would kill him if he gave too much away. "Well," he said, slowly, "It all started when the suspect recognized me, and I didn't recognize him…"
