Harry Potter swooshed and swerved through the air on his Firebolt, as he strained his eyes searching for the Golden Snitch. He couldn't help but recall the horrible day when the dementors showed up to the Quidditch Pitch; his blood turned cold just thinking of it. Pulling away from his thoughts, he looked up to the sky. An object was falling from it at intense speed. As it came closer and closer to him he realized it was Hedwig, except she had fins instead of wings. She drifted downward as her whole body turned to scales of all different colors. She floated softly, as light as a feather, until she landed on the tip of Harry's broomstick...

With a huge jolt, Harry awoke and looked frantically around his small bedroom. He found Hedwig nibbling on his fingers, with a letter tied to her feet. He looked at it in surprise, but quickly recognized the messy handwriting of his best mate, Ron Weasley.

Harry woke up early the next morning, unable to sleep. He knew that in a few hours he would be leaving for the Burrow.

After Sirius's death he lost all hope in everything he did. The only time he was ever happy was when he was with his friends, so that made this visit that much more special to him.

He walked downstairs into the kitchen and saw the three Dursley's sitting at the table. Dudley was no longer on his grapefruit diet, and was eating a big chocolate cake for breakfast. Harry sat at the table ignoring the snide comments thrown at him, always about the way he looked or the things he did. He quickly learned to shut them out of his head because the comments always reminded him of Sirius, and he didnt want to be sad anymore. He took this opportunity to tell them about Ron.

"Ron's coming to get me at 11 today, just thought you should know."

Uncle Vernon started to get mad at the idea of wizards being in his house, but shut up as he saw Harry walk away. He went upstairs to pack his belongings and waited.

He heard a huge crash in the living room at exactly 11:02, and went downstairs. He saw the familiar flaming red hair spotted with soot from the fireplace.

"Ron! It's so great to see you," Harry said with a big smile.

"Yeah! Hope the Dursley's are treating you better this time.."

"It's ok...Where's the rest of your family?" Harry asked, noticing that only Ron had come through the fireplace.

"Oh, Mum let me come alone since I'm 16," he said with a grin.

Harry smiled and waved good-bye to the angry faced Uncle Vernon.

He was going to the burrow...
