"Roxas..." I whispered under my breath as I took a slow step towards him. "How could you...?"
He was grinning now...but it wasn't the grin I knew. His hood was up and the shadow it made over his face only made him seem even more ominous. The way his head was tilted up slightly and he flashed his smile down towards me sent chills down my spine.
"How could I...?" he chuckled darkly, the sound matching his frightening smile. "Tell me...Lucy...How could I be able to resist my desire to deliver the pain...? To resist...the fears and lies of a person?"
I slowly shook my head back and forth and took another step toward him. "Roxas..." I rasped out his name again. But that was all. My throat tightened and tears streamed down my face. "What are you talking about...?" I choked out. "This isn't you...You're not a killer!"
What was happening?
The chill in the air...There was something about it...
Roxas couldn't have done it...I wasn't going to believe it.
Quickly, as if I'd blinked and several seconds had gone by in that small amount of time, he was in front of me now. His hands shot out and grabbed hold of my wrists. "Aren't I?" he whispered fiercely. "Isn't killing the process of taking another's life? The act of releasing the spirit from one's body? And then heaing the final wisp of air escape your prey's lips?"
I could feel my eyes widening even more with horror. "No..."
"Lucy! the sound came from behind me.
I turned.
Someone was running in my direction. It became clearer as they came closer...
No...No.
"Lucy!" Roxas shouted my name again as he came closer. "Lucy, you have to run! Get away from him!"
I faced forward again to find his eyes looking into mine with that devilish smile only growing as he came closer.
