This thought struck me while I was in the middle of playing Mario Kart: Double Dash.
No idea why, but I thought I'd write it.

That ship. It was his ship. The curve of her prow, strength of her mast, the spread of her oars.

And all those portholes and holes for rows...Just the perfect fit for tentacles.

The Kraken wouldn't let those monsters have her. She was his ship, not theirs.

Neither would he let the afternoon snacks which were running around on the ships deck have her. They were far too small for her anyway. He knew she wanted something with a lot more girth.

He swam up, and began to caress her with his limbs. Oh, the feel of her wood on his smooth skin was glorious. This was everything he had ever dreamed of. Even better than that other ship he'd had the other week. Too skinny that one.

He was interrupted by some Orange and Blue snacks just when he was almost there. He swatted them aside. They'd come later.

He returned to his ship. He wanted her, and he knew that she wanted him. There would only ever be him, and the ship, forever.

There was only one way to keep her safe from the rest of the world. He'd have to take her with him. Down to his home, at the bottom of the sea.

He hoped she wouldn't struggle.

He'd had to hurt that other ship when she struggled, and he didn't like hurting lovely ships like this.

His mind was made up. Even now, a new set of people wanting to steal her away from him were coming up the stairs. Four of them this time.

Well, he'd show them. Once he'd dealt with them nobody would ever bother him and his ship again.

Well, that turned out weirder than I'd thought.
