My Time At The Sandlot: Alternates
These are a few alternates to my story My Time At The Sandlot. This first one is for my hospital scene. Benny gets hit by a car, but what if HE didn't? Yes, just to straighten this all out, I am a girl. Dani is based on me, Danielle Hedin.
We stopped at his corner of the street. Did I mention both of our houses were on different corners of the street? He kissed me goodnight. Our goodnight kisses were always long. "I'll see you tomorrow Dani." he said. "Benny can I ask you something?" I asked. He nodded. "Promise you'll never leave me?" I asked. "Only if you promise you'll never leave me." he stated. I got up close to him and put my hands on his chest. "Deal." I said, kissing him. He gave me one last peck on the mouth before he walked up the front walk that led to his front door. I stood there and waited for him to close his door. He looked behind his shoulder at me. I blew him a kiss and he smiled. He finally walked into his house and closed the door behind him. I stuck my hands in my pockets and walked to my house. The last thing I remembered is screeching brakes. I hit the pavement and the world went black.
It's so peaceful here. The clouds are so fluffy, like I always imagined they would be. The gates in front of me are so tall, so perfect. Why are the gates opening? Who is that? Oh my goodness, it's God. "My child, it is not your time. You must go back." He's saying to me. My eyes are widening. I'm floating downward. Not me. Not today.
I opened my eyes and looked around. It was a room with pure white walls and white linoleum floor. I heard the crinkle of a plastic pillow under my head. I felt something in my hand. I looked at it and saw an IV. I must be in a hospital... I thought Why? I moved my head in the direction of the big window by the door. Benny was leaning against it, back to window. "Benny..." I whispered. He was talking to my mom and sister. He spun around and saw me, awake. He opened the door and ran to me. He sat on the bed and kissed me. It was one of the most passionate kisses he ever gave me. "You were flat-lined! I'm so happy you're alive!" he said, hugging me tightly. I was shocked. "Flat-lined?" I asked. He pulled away and nodded. I remembered our promise. "We promised to never leave each other." I said. Now he was the shocked one. "The doctors said you had amnesia." he said. I laughed. "Well, they're wrong. Do I have any signs of amnesia?" I stated. He shook his head. "But the doctors did say you would have paralysis from the waist down for a while." he said. "So that's why I can't feel my legs..." I said. Benny smiled. "I'm just so happy your okay." he said, kissing me again. "Benny I havta tell you something..." I said. His eyes got wide. "What?" he asked, scared. "I havta pee." I said, smiling. He laughed. "I'll get someone to help you." he said. He kissed me passionatly again and left the room. I smiled. "Now I know he really loves me...".
