Something Right
Naruto wasn't her Mr. Right. Hell, he didn't even come close. No, Sakura's Mr. Right, her perfect ideal of a husband, would have been Sasuke, because Sasuke was smart, calm, mysterious, and just seemed right. Yes, for the longest time, Sakura was sure that Sasuke was her Mr. Right.
But that ideal was crushed after a long set of wrongs, and there was so much heartbreak, it felt as nothing could be right in the world again. As if no one could right those wrongs that had been committed against her heart.
But Naruto, silly, childish, beautiful Naruto, tried. And he failed, over and over and over. And the promises never seemed right, because they were wrong and childish and silly to begin with. And the dates never seemed right either, because even though her heart began to bend a little, just a little, Naruto would always do something stupid, silly, or childish and then it just wrecked the mood.
I mean, honestly, eating twice the amount of ramen the Tuesday night before he left on that mission to sand country, and then throwing up for the rest of their date? God knows what was going through that boy's head. She had to nurse him back to appropriate health before he could leave!
But, after a while, the question wasn't wrong or right, it was do you--
And even though when he proposed to her on the bridge, got distracted, fell into the water, lost the ring, went searching for it and found it fifteen minutes later--
The answer was I do.
And even though Sakura wasn't always right, and Naruto could never do anything right, they were in love, and that was just alright.
