It was an inevitable fact of life, Kari found, that her brother would, in one way or another, make Sora angry at least once a month, and sometimes more.
It wasn't that he was an idiot, really (though he displayed a distressing lack of common sense when it came to girls and many other things), or that he /tried/ to make her angry (because he went out of his way to avoid it, which often ended up in the actuality of it happening). It was more that Sora cared.
She cared so much about Tai's opinion and words and actions that it was impossibly easy for him to make a mistake. Kari, having the advantage of not being either Tai or Sora, could understand this.
No one but Tai could make Sora so irrationally angry because no one but Tai could affect her quite that much. And no one but Sora could make Tai that stressed out about making a mistake. Normally he just shrugged it off; when it was Sora he obsessed over it until he made things worse and better all at once.
So Kari just raised her eyebrows and traded looks with TK when Sora announced she was going out with Matt.
Both of them understood it wasn't that easy to discard feelings you'd carried around for ages. They had the advantage of perspective.
