Emma had just finished putting the last of the dishes away when she heard the front door close. She had decided to surprise her girlfriend by cleaning up a bit before she arrived home from work. She smiled brightly when Regina entered the kitchen.
"Hey!"
Regina returned her smile, "Hi."
The mayor placed the items she was carrying on the kitchen table and crossed to where the blonde stood. She passed her arms around her waist and snuggled into the other woman's neck. "Thank you for cleaning up in here." She murmured.
One of Emma's hands found her way into Regina's dark hair, "You're welcome. How was your day?"
"It was fine." Regina said, not moving from her place on Emma's shoulder, "I missed you though."
"I missed you too."
Emma was surprised when Regina made no move to break their embrace. She would continue to stand there and hold her closely as long as the Mayor would allow.
"What movie do you want to watch?" Henry asked as he scanned over the collection of DVDs on a shelf. Emma's had quickly gotten mixed in with their own so he had many new titles to contemplate.
"Whatever you want Henry." Emma told him as she placed an overflowing bowl of popcorn on the coffee table.
"Within reason," Regina added while she carried a tray of drinks into the room, "You know the rules."
Soon they were all settling down in front of the screen while the opening credits rolled. Henry took up a place on the floor in front of the coffee table and Emma had settled on the couch. Suddenly she had the bowl of popcorn in her lap while Regina curled up under her arm. The brunette passed one arm around her waist while the other lifted her hand to dig into the bowl of the salty treat.
"Comfy?" Emma asked.
Regain hummed in contentment, "Quite."
"I forgot how much I loved that movie." Emma said with a yawn as she crawled into bed. "It's been a long time since I have seen it."
"It was good." Regina agreed as she exited the bathroom and turned off the light.
Sliding into the bed to the blonde, she placed her head on her chest and pressed herself securely against the other woman's side. Emma's arms enveloped her tightly. She nuzzled her nose into Regina's dark locks before pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"You know, I don't think anyone would ever believe me if they found out how much you loved to cuddle." Emma said with a smile.
"Well," Regina raised a hand and began to draw invisible patterns on Emma's chest; just above her heart, "That's because they are never going to find out. Because if they do, I will have to rip your heart out and crush it to dust."
Emma was silent for a moment before she burst out laughing. Regina quickly followed. She reached up and pressed her lips to Emma's before settling back against her.
The blonde woman smiled as she pressed another kiss to her forehead, "Your secret is safe with me."
