Rain. All day it had been raining, yet she found comfort in it. The skies
were feeling her emotions, her sadness, her pain. She raised a hand to her
eyes and found herself crying again, but, what else was new. She had been
crying all day.
**************************************************************************** **************************** "Hermione!! There is a young man at the door to see you! He says his name is Harry...", Bellowed Hermione's mother. Hermione bounded down the stairs eager to see him. Finally after all their troubles, they had gotten together in their sixth year, and still were dating while going into their seventh. She smiled eagerly as she opened the door, but frowned in worry when she saw Harry's face. It was contorted in confusion, and what looked like nervousness.
"Harry, what's wrong?!" She whispered. "Hermione, we need to talk..." was all he said. She pasted on a weak smile and invited him in to their living room. "No, Please....Somewhere more...Private..." he asked solemnly. So she led him to their den. "Harry, please tell me what's gotten you so upset", she pleaded. He sat down, and lowered his eyes to the floor. "Ithinkweshouldbreakup", he mumbled quickly. "What was that Harry? Your mumbling again...", she said with a laugh. "I think we should break up", He said more slowly. Time seemed to freeze as he watched her face go from a laughing expression, to one of sadness, confusion, and pain. "May I ask why you feel this way...", She whispered sadly. "I think I've fallen for someone else...i...i...i have to go now", He said, hoisting himself off the chair, and running towards her door. It took all her effort not to run after him, not to plead with him, not to beg him to take her back. Slumping down on the chair that he was sitting in, she began to cry.

It was time. Hermione grabbed her trunk for Hogwarts, and threw in her newly bought books from Flourish and Blotts. Her parents loaded all her luggage into their car, and drove her to the train station. After placing a kiss on each of their cheeks, she walked through platform 31/4 and towards the Hogwarts express. After making sure Harry was nowhere to be seen, Hermione climbed into one of the back carts, and slumped into her seat. Peering out the window, she spotted Harry, his arm wrapped around Lavender Brown's waist. "That..That...", Hermione started, but began to cry. Hearing a commotion outside her door, she wiped her face with the sleeve of her sweater. In walks Draco Malfoy, swaggering towards her.
"Well, hello Mudblood, where's scar-head and the weasel?", He sneered. "Well, I know where you COULD check, but I personally would be wondering how they got there", She retorted, being in no need of his torments. "Now, now, mustn't be too rude, wouldn't want your Head Boy to get angry at you now, would you?", He replied. "YOU made Head Boy", Hermione said with a laugh. "Well Malfoy, I won't have to worry there, I'm Head Girl". Upon hearing this, Malfoy's eyes grew large, and he stormed from her cart, giving Hermione a feel of justice and peace that she hadn't felt all summer.
