Sam opened the door to find a disgruntled Cas sitting at the kitchenette table and a triumphant looking Dean lounging on his bed, looking through an old issue of Hot Rod, his lip split and swollen. Eyebrows furrowed, especially when he noticed the mess he didn't remember leaving and the tiny bell dangling from Cas' neck, Sam slowly asked, "What the hell happened here?"
"What?" Dean looked up, glanced over at Cas, and said, "I was getting tired of him constantly appearing without warning…"
"You're brother attacked me," Cas stated, his voice deathly calm, but Sam could sense the underlying anger rolling off him. "He called me, told me it was an emergency, and gave me the address to where you two were staying. I appeared, worried you two were injured or worse, only to find the room empty…"

10 Minutes Earlier…
Castiel's eyebrows furrowed when he appeared in the empty room. He knew Dean and Sam had been here, he could even sense that Dean was somewhere in the room, but he could not see either brother. For a moment, he feared something was wrong with his sensing power. He did not want to lose that one, too. Not after losing almost all of his other powers.
"Dean," he called softly. "Dean, I think there is something…" Something heavy landed on his back, sending him forward in surprise. Cas tried to knock whoever had attacked him off of him, but his attacker held on tighter. He struggled, knocking things off the walls and counters.
The floor was soon littered with downed furniture, broken pictured frames, and left over food from somebody's lunch. Cas managed to get whoever had attacked him off his back, but not before a silver bell had been forced over his head, resting against his neck.
"There," Dean said triumphantly, dragging himself to his feet. He dusted himself off, running his tongue over his bleeding lip.
"Why would you do this?" Cas asked sharply, glaring at the hunter, fingering the bell around his neck.
"It's an early warning system. Now, I'll know you're coming." As Dean started towards his bed, limping slightly, Cas tried to take the bell off his neck, but it wouldn't budge. "Oh, yeah, I had Bobby help me put an incantation on it. You're not going to be able to take it off that way."
"I am not happy with you right now," Cas grumbled crossing his arms.
"I'd be surprised if you were," Dean retorted grinning, settling down on his bed. He then grabbed a magazine, flipped it open, and began reading…

Present Day…
"…you showed up a few moments after that," Cas finished in frustration. He glared at Dean, fingered the bell again, and said, "He will not tell me what spell he put on it. And, since I can't study it, I cannot figure it out.
"He put a bell around your neck?" Sam questioned slowly, looking between his brother and his friend, trying really hard not to laugh.
"Yes," Cas stated testily.
"And you just let him?"
"No, he…"
"I what, Cas," Dean teased flashing the angel another triumphant grin.
"He surprised me," Cas admitted softly, his glare intensifying. Sam had a feeling, had Cas' powers still worked, Dean would be a puddle on the floor.
"How'd he manage that?"
"By hiding behind the door," Dean announced looking back at his magazine. Sam couldn't help it anymore, he snorted with laughter.
"I am not happy with either of you," Cas snapped and his bell jingled as he disappeared. Dean and Sam exchanged a quick look before busting out laughing. Sometimes it was too easy to get Cas' goat.
In my mind, this is sorta a prequel to my one shot 'The Sound of Music.' Now I just need to write one where Cas messes with Sam :)
Thanks for reading, if it's bad blame it on me being tired, and I do not own Dean, Sam, or Cas.
Leave me a comment if you can
See ya!
