Severus had gone to The Burrow for a meal as the entire Order had been invited to go and he didn't want to be the only one to be left out. Before the meal, he had seen Hermione's cat walking around near the food and he had shuddered a little at the thought of ending up with bits of fur in his meal. He was sure Molly would make sure that didn't happen though and he allowed the thought to leave his mind.
He made polite conversation with the other members of the Order as they waited for the meal to be made and eventually they all sat down at the table together to be served. The first course was soup and everyone hurriedly ate it, anticipating the vastness of the second course which would soon follow.
A huge array of food appeared in front of them, almost as it did at Hogwarts, when it was time for the second course and everyone looked upon it with awe. Everyone, that is, except Snape. On his plate were a few strands of short, ginger hair. He was unsure of whether it belonged to one of the Weasley's or to the cat but it put him off his food undeniably and he found himself unable to eat any more that meal.
When questioned about why he hadn't touched it after saying he was so hungry, he claimed that the soup had filled him up and that he couldn't possibly eat another morsel before he made his departure and headed back to his classroom at Hogwarts.
When he arrived, to his dismay, he found his fridge was empty apart from a bar of chocolate. Chocolate was one food which he absolutely despised but he knew there was nothing else he could eat so he took the bar out of the fridge and peeled away the wrapper, hoping it tasted better than what it looked like.
To his surprise, however, it was actually fairly pleasant and he ate the entire bar without thinking another thing about his dislike of chocolate. He was unsure he would be likely to buy more chocolate but it had certainly filled him up a little more and he felt much better for having it. He would never let Remus Lupin know that chocolate really did make people, including himself, feel better, though. He would always deny Remus that piece of knowledge.
