First flight
"Good morning gorgeous." Zane said as he rolled over and put his arm around Danica. He snuggled closer to her, hiding his face in her hair. He took a deep breath, he loved her so much.
"I should take you flying today." She said turning around to face him, a loving smile on her face. She had never taken him flying before. He liked to remain on the ground, but he trusted her. He softly stroked the side of her face.
"I would love that." He replied, he would finally be able to see the world as Danica did, it kind of excited him. He would be able to understand more about her. She kissed his nose playfully before rolling off the bed. She held a hand out for him to follow her.
They dressed and went down to breakfast, then strolled in the market. Talking to the merchants, and to the serpents. Danica always loved coming to the serpent palace, learning to dance the sakkri. Seeing Zane's face light up when she learned a new move.
After a few hours in the market Danica led Zane up to a hill overlooking a small lake. "Ready?" She asked him smiling.
"Are you sure its safe?" Zane asked, it wasn't that he didn't trust her, its just that serpents weren't supposed to fly.
"Of course it is, I have flown all my life. And I would never let anything happen to you." He smiled at her, he shifted into his cobra form and she grew out her wings in her demi form. She gently picked him up kissing the top of his scaly head. She ran down the hill, flapping her wings then as they approached the lake she took off.
Zane had never felt anything like this, the ground moving quickly under them. They up into the sky, so high that Zane streached out onto Danica's arm and touched a cloud. It didn't feel like he had expected it to, instead of soft a fluffy it was damp and cold. He looked up at his beautiful wife, the wide smile across her face. She truly loved this and he could see why, the freedom, and the beauty of seeing the world differently than everyone else. He was even starting to like it too. Danica flew back to the edge of the serpents palace and gently set Zane down on some grass before she sat next to him.
"Wasn't that amazing?" She asked. He shifted back and put an arm around her shoulder.
"We should do that again sometime." She said, then placing a kiss on her cheek. "I never knew I could love someone this much." He mumbled before kissing her again.
