[DISCLAIMER: I do not own The Big Bad Wolf or Little Red Riding Hood, they are the brainchildren of the Brothers Grimm. I am just a mere college student revisiting the stories from my childhood that I hold close to my heart.]

People fear me
And won't come near me
They see a predator
And fearful visitor.
"Just stay away!"
That's what they all say.
Then I hear them pray
To not become my prey.
.
I hear them cry out,
"Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!
Look out, here comes the
Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!"
Everywhere I go, I hear,
"Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!
Stay away from the
Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!"
.
But little girl all in red
While you are right to dread
Know that I don't want you dead.
Your blood I will not shed.
Because of my stereotype
From the towns, I must take flight
So be a good girl and stay away
I know exactly what the grown-ups will say:
.
I hear them cry out,
"Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!
Look out, here comes the
Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!"
Everywhere I go, I hear,
"Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!
Stay away from the
Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!"
.
I know that God gave me fangs
And that I have sharp teeth
But I won't harm even your bangs
So put your blade back in its sheath.
I know you're just doing as you're told
And that fear makes some people bold
But these rumors are getting old
You've a better chance of dying from cold.
What on earth do I have to do
To convince you that I won't eat you?
I swear to you that I'm no monster
Unlike other wolves, I have honor.
I admit that I'm not perfect
And God knows that I'm a sinner
But if there's one thing I do not want
It's to have you for my dinner.
.
I hear them cry out,
"Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!
Look out, here comes the
Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!"
Everywhere I go, I hear,
"Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!
Stay away from the
Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!"
.
You have no reason to believe me
And I will not force you to trust me
So ready your blade if you desire
Just in case I am a liar.
But to prove that I'm better by far
Than the other wolves, who bring scars
I shall protect you from afar
Ever-present as the sun and stars.
.
I hear them cry out,
"Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!"
(I can't take this anymore.)
"Look out, here comes the
Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!"
(I'm the one that all abhor.)
Everywhere I go, I hear,
"Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!"
(My honor, I can't restore—)
"Stay away from the
Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!"
(—'Cause of some stupid folklore!)
"Look out, here comes the
Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!
Look out, here comes the
Big Bad Wolf! Big Bad Wolf!"

Thank you so much for reading this poem, I hope you enjoyed it. :-)
If you have the time, please feel free to tell me what you thought about this; what you liked or didn't like or what you would suggest to change. Seeing your reviews brings so much joy to me, even if it's just a word or two. But if you haven't got time to stop and write a review for whatever reason, that's okay, I understand. (*whispers* If I had a dollar for every time I didn't have time to leave a review, I would be just a bit richer.)
Thank you again for reading, and God bless you and your day.
Sincerely, The Professor.
P.S. Please feel free to check out my bio page for other stories you might like. I haven't written very many fics yet, but I hope you consider maybe reading one or two.
