Eric's POV
The Future
My fingers are typing away trying to put onto paper feelings that can only be described in the hearts of lovers. Our story, the story of time, it all runs together. I can't remember a time when she wasn't there, my Lillian. My lips twist into a smirk while I type of our first real conversation. As if on cue, she walks through the door to my home office,
"What are you writing now?" she asks seeing my computer.
"Our story," I say cryptically. She rolls her eyes and pushes my chair over and begins to read. She smiles as happy tears fall from her eyes. When she finished she looked over at me and said
"I love it, but there is just one problem…" my ego takes a hit,
"What?" she smiles coyly,
"You make me sound like a pervert, and you sound like a pedophile!" I must have had a look on my face because she couldn't stop laughing.
"How is this funny?" she's clutching her sides she's laughing so hard,
"That's not what I said." She was able to get out through gasped breaths. Smirking I said,
"Okay then smart one, you rewrite that part." Without missing a beat she grabs my chair, pushes me out and takes her place at the computer. Within minutes she says she's done. "Alright" I said, "move over."
"I will agree to this on one condition." I smiled seeing the twinkle in her eyes,
"What is that?"
"Don't hold back when we are dreaming. It's not the same, but if that is all I can get then I'll take it. I love you Eric. Why do you have to be six years older?" I rolled my eyes,
"I'm not that old. I'm only 24, I don't have a Lolita complex." She laughed, causing me to laugh too. I held her closer, "I love you too, my precious Lilly."
I sat there awe-struck, what I had been fighting with for the past several weeks she got down in three minutes flat.
"What do you think?" she asked already knowing the answer.
"It was fantastic," she started grinning like the Cheshire Cat, "but there is one thing you missed," her face fell, "I do believe I kissed you in that classroom." I picked her up out of the chair and brought her lips to mine. When I let her go, she turned and started walking out of the room, she looked over and said
"Maybe I should write our story since you can't seem to get it," I laughed,
"As if, just because you got it right on your first try doesn't mean you could write the whole book." I was blowing smoke and she knew it.
"Did your ego take a hit? Aww, poor baby. Oh, and by the way you need to rewrite me as being more of a 'I tell it like it is girl,' because you obviously don't remember all the times I put you in your place."
"You love kicking me while I'm down don't you?"
"Of course I do, it's my job as your wife. And you love me for it," She said laughing.
"I love you more than you will ever know." I whisper to myself as I hear her wake up our 6 month old baby boy, Michael.
