This idea has been plaguing me since I started writing Finding Loveless, so I decided to simply make it a one-shot an leave it up for review. I hope you like it...But I might not have written it the way I wanted it to be, so tell me what you think! Also I made Ritsuka a little more innocent than he really is in the series. Don't hurt me for it!

"Ritsuka, why do you have cat ears and a tail?"
Ritsuka glanced up from the book that he was currently reading, his eyes growing in size at the unexpected question. But before he could answer a look of concentration overcame his features as his voice came out in a thoughtful tone, "Hmm…I don't know why we have ears and tails. But when I think of about it, the adults don't have them…"
The small band of Mazoku also had thoughtful looks at this small tidbit of information.
"Maybe it is a rite of passage, is it at a certain age that you lose them?" Murata questioned, his eyes gleaming behind their round frames in curiosity, while Gunter seemed to be scribbling down every word of their conversation.
Ritsuka shook his head vigorously, a frown marring his face as he recalled people from his old world.
"No, my sensei still has ears and tail and she is in her twenties. And I have met people that are in high school that do not have their ears and tails."
"Hmm, I wonder what causes one to lose them then…" Conrad voiced, watching as Gwendal drew closer to Ritsuka before sitting on the arm of the overstuffed chair, one arm draping over the boy's shoulders.
Ritsuka snuggled unconsciously into his fighter's comforting embrace before a memory struck him that had his ears perking up.
"Oh, Seimei once told me that to lose one's ears and tail they have to do the dirty deed with another person…but he never told me what it is."
Silence descended upon the room as all the adults had a sinking feeling as to what the 'dirty deed' might be. Blushes bloomed across all the faces in the room all except two, one very innocent Ritsuka and one very naïve King.
Yuuri's face held a thoughtful look as he turned to everyone in the room. "Hmm, I have no idea. Conrad, do you know what it is?"
