Here's the drabble I originally posted on tumblr. I wanted to write a Sigrun/Nate drabble that was fluff rather than bromance. I might continue this. Reviews welcome!

Cold feet.

Sigrun had gone to bed alone and woke up with a pair of chilled feet on hers. "What in the sodding…?" A semi-awake dwarf was not good at swearing. Suddenly, she realised who the feet and the large, warm body belonged to. Nathaniel Howe.

Opening a eye, she murmured, "You're back." It seemed her talent for pointing out the obvious increased when she was half-asleep. Though it was pitch black, she could hear the smile in his voice as he replied,

"I am. My bed was cold." Sigrun frowned, though his arms wrapped round her, as if they were made to fit perfectly on her waist. Nate had been away for over a month, a trip to Denerim with other Grey Warden's. Celine, the Warden Commander had requested he go on her behalf and Nate asked that Sigrun go with him. Instead, Anders and Oghren had accompanied him, leaving Sigrun to train new recruits (or so Celine said). So for the last month, both had slept in cold beds. They had only slept together a few times before he'd left, assuming they were just friends who slept together but in the still, small hours of sleepless nights, Sigrun was starting to think they were more than just that.

Nathaniel's hands roamed over her back, tugging at the huge shirt she was wearing. "Hey! This is mine. You broke into my room when I was gone, didn't you?"

Sigrun paused before replying."… I may have done." Truth was, when she was really unable to sleep one night, the rogue unpicked his lock and slept in his bed. Deciding it was comforting but not viable for the next few weeks she took the shirt that he slept in, neatly folded under his pillow and wore it for bed. She just didn't expect him to come back early and get caught wearing it.

Nate began to laugh. "I was keeping my lockpicking skills up to date!" Her voice was disgruntled and she harrumphed, turning away from him though Nate did not leave go of her. Instead, he snaked his long fingers into her hand, fingers lacing through hers as his head dipped into the crook of her neck. Sigrun tried not to shiver as his lips touched her warm skin.

"You know what?" He whispered, gently kissing along the shell of her ear. Not waiting for a response, he continued, "I missed you too. I slept badly without you to hold in my arms." Sigrun would not find out that he woke up in an inn one morning, cuddling his pillow, nor would he say that the women Anders and Anora pushed in his direction were indescribably boring. None of them could make him smile like she did, and the women of the palace were incredibly shallow compared to his that was another thing – since he'd been away, in his mind, Sigrun had suddenly become 'his dwarf'.

Before Nate could work out why she was suddenly his, Sigrun turned round, her arms slipping round the back of his neck, the familiar scent of leather and musk oil he used for bathing making her smile. "Well, I missed you too, I guess. That's why I'm wearing your shirt." She heard her voice, unsure and muffled with tiredness as she hugged him back.

"In fact, after we've slept I can show you how much I've missed my dwarf." Sigrun yawned and put her head on his shoulder as the two of them shifted into a more comfortable position.

"My man better had show me or he can go back to sleeping alone." Nate chuckled at her empty threats. Perhaps, Sigrun mused as she drifted asleep again, they didn't need to say the 'L' word to mean it after all.
